So I ended up putting a 3x9 on the 96/22. I was digging through my crap and didn't find any red dots that would mount to the tip off scope rail. I had a set of rings for the rail on said 3x9 that must have been scuttled from some past project. I did rip a couple of CCI quiet through it tonight. The integral has "plugs" you can remove to slow bulk ammo down to the subsonic level but that will take some tuning.

I didn't want to wake the dead with something that was louder then expected. The CCI quiet fit the bill. The firing pin is the loudest part. I heard the projectile crash into the trees but it would not have been assumed to be a "gunshot".

Really happy so far. There are a lot of people that scoff at wasting a stamp on a integral setup for one gun. In reality I still have more tied up in the new center fire rifle then this entire setup. I'll get pics of that in a couple weeks. All I can say is the Ruger precision in 6mm creedmoor is small time compared to the Ruger precision in .338 lapua sitting next to it in the safe...(the 6mm is mine, the .338 is not, I ain't no baller like that)

TNVC makes a twist mount ring for PVS-14s. Makes it easier to add or remove it than that standard USGI mount.

You do need to have an Aimpoint twist mount base to use it though.

Doing a rough mock up on my 6mm CM rifles. Ruger RPR and Savage Stealth Evolution.

Wasn't sure if the mount that came with the Sig scope was going to work on the Evolution but it does. 20 moa rail and 20 moa mount. Really hoping it will manage a 100 yard zero.

Need to pull them back apart and clean and Loctite everything as well as set the butt stocks and cheek risers. Get them range ready while waiting for reloading stuff to come in.

Will get some better pics when I get them out again.

Shot my buddies EVO Wed. Sweet rifle...

I pulled it out of the bag and noticed instantly that the rail base was loose. I hooked him up with some Loctite.

Every Savage I have owned has had oil under the scope base and between the stock and action.

First thing I do with any "new to me" rifle is tear it all down and start over.

My Favorite and most accurate Ruger 10-22. I used some Brownell's Alumna Hyde II to finish it.
