I woke this morning to my dog spooning me. Rolled over and there she was, head on my pillow, used that long tongue of hers to lick the end of my nose. I think she thinks I'm her mom/dad/whatever.

I make her get on her dog bed at the foot of my bed. Sometime in the night, here she comes.

At least you get the head end.
Wake up sometime, with the view of the second dog in the sled team.

I sleep on my back. Decades ago there were many occasions when I woke up with my cat, Greynamore, sleeping on my chest with his butt on my chin.

    I miss that old fella.

New dog and old dog getting along. Equally retarded it seems.

We can tell which is the old dog, it's not blurry....

Old dog is only 2 and a half, lol.

Only one blurry dog is the best I’ve done so far. Usually it’s just 2 blurs.

The wife never had a palate for venison or wild game, but knowing exactly it's history, where it was harvested and foraged she actually prefers it to store-bought beef or turkey now. The turkey's are a rare treat that we don't often see.

Holy shit! You got the reference! I'm gobsmacked! Good show, sir!!! And, yes, the cat was named after the character.

When I first saw it, I was in a job that could have been in the first act of the movie. There were maybe 5 people in the theater and they were all staring at me because I was laughing so hard I pulled a muscle.

It may have been a box office flop but it's on my list of "Top Ten Movies That Touched My Heart."

My oldest daughter watched that movie so many times she wore out our BlockBuster video card. So many times that even I remember the characters almost 30 years later.

You're right, memorable, and one of the few "chick flicks" the only male in the family was happy to watch again ... and again.

Interesting that pets appear to be a more modern thing. As a kid, cats were few and far between, I do remember a old black lab and a couple real bulldogs. They were all outside dogs.

The one in the photo is the only inside dog I've ever owned.
    Also the smallest.

It appears to be an "old man" thing.
I hope like hell she outlives me.

And, I've made damned sure there is someone there to take care of her if she does.

    We had both.

Moms chauhuaua, inside dog, and Zeeb, the god only knows what, outside dog, protector of the domain. He looked part GSD, part rotty , part lab. He was not friendly to visitors. Pretty much nobody got out of the car unless we came outside. He didn't even like me.

And we had lots of barn cats.
