I just bought a new ATN X Sight 4K Night Scope, and I'm trying to mount it to my Mossberg Patriot 30-06 rifle. I'm relatively new to gun accessories, but not new to guns and sighting and firing a bullseye and killing varmints.

All I get online and at Amazon and Academy is nothing for this Picatinny rail mount that I need to mount this new ATN scope. Only one vendor seems to have it, EGW Gun Parts, and they want $39 for this rail. The same rails for the Mossberg 500 shotguns are $8. So, what's the deal?

I've also tried looking at all the sights for a weaver rail, but nothing.

    Any comments are appreciated. Thanks.

Pay $39.00 for a quality rail from EGW and be happy. That's a lot of weight on that rail don't forget to torque and use some blue thread holder.

Mossberg is known to not snug down mount screws. Plus it goes back to checking a new gun out of the box. I would highly recommend you check torque with any factory installed base.

As per your compatibility issues, look to see what warne has.

Edit: I don’t recommend leaving the mount from the factory on without taking it off. I had a mossy and it had assembly oil everywhere plus the base was very loose. Clean it up get those threads dry.

That seems to be every manufacturer.

I always recommend pulling any mounts off and removing the action from the stock to clean all the oil off everything and Loctiting as desired.

If not it is going to come loose.

I was shocked when every ruger American ranch I got had been torqued and you can see thread locker was applied. Way to go ruger on that one.

Almost a month and no responses? Sorry about that. Don't know how we missed it and you probably have already solved the problem.

So you need a Picatinny rail for your rifle?

Get the EGW. That is a good price for a quality rail.

Don't even bother with a Weaver rail. While close, they are not the same thing as a Picatinny rail. Keep in mind there is a brand Weaver and a style Weaver. I am not sure if Weaver is making Weaver style rails or if they went to Picatinny rails. (That's not confusing is it?).

Weaver style rings do not fit Picatinny rails but Picatinny rings fit Weaver rails. That being said you are always better off matching the two and Weaver can be very limiting. Almost everything you see is Picatinny style.

Goid luck and I hope you already have it mounted and in the field.

Good to hear. Glad somebody is doing it right.

Even my latest high end Savage was slathered in oil under the rail and between the stock and action. No thread locker either.
