Mike — Democrats and Republicans in the House of Representatives just introduced H.R. 8, a bill to update background checks in America. Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords stood with these lawmakers today — on the eight year mark of the day she was shot at a constituent meeting in Tucson, Arizona — to announce this landmark legislation.

This bipartisan bill will strengthen background checks and save lives. And your Representative needs to hear from you so this life-saving legislation passes the House.

For more information about our campaign to update background checks, take a look at my email from yesterday below!

I looked but couldn't find a thread about this specifically, if I missed it, please disregard or please merge.

I just seen this email from Moms Demand Hot Action but I can't seem to find any text of it and when I look it up, instead I find the summary for

"Electing Members to certain standing committees of the House of Representatives."

Did they screw up or is there something going on here I am missing?

On a separate note, Rubio introduced S.7, Federal ERPO legislation that has been referred to the Senate Justice Committee. Cornyn & Cruz both sit on that committee. Time to let them know to kill it.

"It is the sense of Congress that—

    (1) each State and Indian tribe should enact extreme risk protection order legislation described in part NN of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, as added by section 3; and

    (2) such extreme risk protection order legislation is an important tool in the efforts of States and Indian tribes to ensure that firearms and ammunition are kept out of the hands of individuals whom a court has determined to be a significant danger to themselves or others."

Ties federal grants to requirement that states enact ERPO laws.

Of course the Left wants Universal Background Checks.

They know this will do NOTHING to stop criminals from obtaining guns. But, if they get UBC, a few years later they will be saying that because we don't have registration UBC can't work. So they'll get registration.

    Registration ALWAYS leads to confiscation.

    Confiscation ALWAYS leads to genocide.

With them controlling the House, you'll see a busload of legislation to see what sticks.

Who is to say the UBC will not be recorded? FBI had Operation Carnivore (look it up). Govt. Is not your friend. Registration leads to taxation and confiscation.

Again, you do not compromise with the enemy. You destroy them.

She was. Before she was shot. She resembled Kathy Baker when she played in Street Smart.
