If I'm not mistaken the newer models were blued or stainless, the older models were either blued or nickel plated. That one looks to be nickel plated. Not sure - how can I tell?
I didn't look up the date they changed from nickel to stainless, but if I remember rightly mine that I bought in the 90's was stainless. Just looking at the patina on yours looks like nickel. After a little bit of research, apparently Colt didn't make a stainless python in 1981. Hope that helps.
Ok, I will lower the price to $2699 and throw in one used guitar pick and a brown sock. Who wants it??
