Gentlemen & the Ladies too,
As a member from Illinois, I have to warn you about pending legislation in The People's Republic of Illinois. The last election placed the most radical Progressive governor in control of this state. This gulag is soon to become the California of the Midwest. The latest firearms legislation proposals alone are enough to make any law abiding citizen shudder anywhere. This can happen to you. J. B. Pritzker the newly elected King with his Chicago Syndicate is firmly in possession of Illinois and it's Residents. Chicago rules the rest of the state. Anyone living outside the Chicago area no longer has any representation or voice in matters differing with Chicago.
The measures being put in place here places gun ownership in serious jeopardy. He has signed into law the licensing of Dealers and their sales to individuals. Current proposals: Restricting Permits for Concealed Carry from "shall" issue to "May" issue on a provisional basis (need or requirement) on appeal. Illinois has a Firearms Owners Identification (FOID) already in place which requires this ID to purchase, own or even look at a firearm, purchase any ammunition to be show before a transaction.
Proposal to change the possession of an FOID will require the holder to release all medical records, e-mail access (names and passwords), social media accounts (Facebook. Twitter etc.) Internet browser login information and access to military records. Not having a valid FOID in Illinois if you own a firearm is already a state felony that can have serious consequences including confiscation, jail and fines.
Law abiding firearms owners are to become extorted criminals.

Well consider Illionis a Sunken Ship Like CommiFornia, and The East Coast Never to be risen again !!! Its truly amazing how these Leftists Get into Power and Ruin States for good from most of the time from one major city!!!

I would leave if I could. I am getting old and my health is on the decline. I am the sole support of my 87 year old mother... just cannot abandon mom. Where to go? Been here 68 ears and the cost of moving this mess would be astronomical. No children and my relatives are all Left wingers.
Just have to "lock & Load" then hunker down and shoot the first bastard that comes calling.

Since my daughter moved out, I'll never be going back. I even have a non-resident IL CCL, and I won't be renewing it.

Contemplating a trip to Indiana in June. Routing will be kinda strange since I refuse to set foot in Illifornia.

However, know that if you have a resident CCL from your state, you can concealed carry in your vehicle in IL, and you can transport unloaded in a locked case.

I left the state of Illinois a year ago with extended family. I was born and raised there as my family. I am so glad I did exit. The writing was on the wall, the last election cycle there. Pritzker is just a stooge for Madigan and his ilk.

Illinois, Chicago, has been a democrat run and owned state for many, many years. The city of Chicago and democrat run state government are in charge of the state. This will never change. These "elected" officials and their family members, Lisa Madigan, will bilk that state dry lining their own pockets. Chicago will become , in time, the next Detroit.

Chicago has a gang problem. This the root of all of the problem, the "gun violence" problem. They, the "elected", have not addressed this ,nor in my opinion want to. They blame the firearm not the perp. New gun laws are just added to have feel good legislation, appear to the masses they are going something. The law abiding only are infringed. The lawless do not care.

I consider myself a Texan by choice and proud of it. I would never like to see the goings on in Illinois to filter here.

I had the Illinois "FOID" card and took it with me when I ditched that place long ago. Everyone I knew is dead or got smart and moved away. There is no reason to go back.... ever!

Why can’t states be like Idaho? Those people are awesome. They actually threaten to drag folks out of office if gun control is suggested. Not a common thing but when I was living in Oregon there was something going on in Idaho and I apologize for not naming the town, some local ordinances were brought up. The people said you drop it or were physically removing you. It got dropped

Wanted to see Altman's camera store but was with Boy Scouts and we only stayed in Cairo 1 night.

I've been to Chicago only once, about 40 years ago. I spent a week at a business conference on Michigan Avenue. It was a blizzard all week. The two things I remember is the hookers in the hotel bar and the slums on the way the airport. I doubt much has changed. Probably still hookers and slums.
