I watched too many loved ones try to live "longer, healthier" lives only to be taken by shitty things like ALS and Alzheimer's.
Honestly, GOD speed to all.
I'll just keep going till I can't.

What I meant about not wanting to be around another 50 years.
The goal now is to be climbing in and out of a fishing boat, until I can't.

Everyone in my family lived to be ancient. Ate fried everything. Great grandmother on my mother’s side was 6 months shy of her 100th bday when she died in her sleep. Imagine the change she saw, from oil lamps, ice boxes, well-drawn water and horse drawn buggies to aircraft, plumbing, electricity. And I chuckle at the memory of my ornery great grandfather mentioning that it was obscene for folks to crap in their homes. Imagine the change that’s going to occur in this century.

I think the key is good genetics and a lack of bad habits. Same reason some folks look older than their age and others younger.

Just because you get old doesn’t mean you have to start acting old. Particularly when the ladies are still paying attention including the young ones. I’m married but it still feels good to have that spark. All things considered, I enjoy life now more than when I was 18 and struggling to find myself and my place in the world.

Nah, I'm good now actually, for the most part.
My heart had enlarged to a point where when I would breathe, my lung would touch it and make me cough.
I went to the dr. due to said cough, and found out my blood pressure was through the roof, which caused my heart to enlarge.
I got on medication and am one of the fortunate ones whose heart then shrank back to normal size.
I still have higher than normal blood pressure though.

Heart Failure

She had a lot of medical issues. She fought hard the last couple of years to stay alive and make the most of the time she had.

Her Dad died at 57, so maybe it did extend her life

I don't remember exact numbers, but long ago I'm thinking it was around 190/115.
Last office visit was something like 148/98.
