Here is another pic. Really seems like there are grind marks, but I'm still fairly new to AR's and not sure if this is how the 6920 is. My other ar (a DPMS A15 does not have any such grind marks in the chamber) its difficult to get a good pic of what I'm seeing with my phone camera and a light.

Did you buy it local or mail order? If you have a local dealer to take it back to you should so you can get you questions answered.

Picked it up brand new at Dury's in San Antonio. Very reputable shop but it's quite a drive to get there for me. Anyone have pics of their LE6920 chambers?

Your barrel extension has no reason to look like that. That shouldn’t have left the facility. Even if it works and your rifle feeds find you didn’t pay that kind of money to buy shit parts. Tell them to pound sand and fix it

Edit: it’s probably (I didn’t work on barrel extensions I’m just guessing. I did carriers and bolts) a spot where a tool broke in an op. They probably seen it not hurt functionality. When I seen defects while machining bolts, know where they went? The trash (lol well the metal recycling bin)

I guess I'll take it back to Dury's before work since they have a lifetime guarantee. The only thing weird in terms of functionality is the bcg won't seat fully into battery if I dont rack the charging handle all the way, which my other rifle will seat all the way. Is that normal? (Sorry, again I'm still new to AR's. This is my 2nd)

No it’s not normal. I’m really shocked colt let this leave the shop.

Looks like rifle (A2)feed ramps extension (common in colt) with M4 upper ramps; perhaps a little mill chatter in bore.

Any updates op? I can’t stop looking at the photos. Not sure if the light is making it look like it has uneven geometry or if it’s actually screwed up. To me it looks screwed up. Here’s my stag model 1 for more reference.

Went to Dury's and they had two gunsmiths look at it with a light and declared that it was ok, but if it had any problems shooting to bring it back. To me the metal looks even from one angle and then poorly ground from another angle for some reason. Should I try to raise a bigger stink with Dury's or should I take this rifle to the range and have at it? It surely doesn't look as pretty as any of yall's chambers. Starting to feel like I should have mail ordered a BCM.....

Here is another pic. What should I say with Dury's seeing as they've already deemed the rifle GTG? Also, I'm assuming the sooner the better regarding this matter so it looks like another trip before work.

If you say you can see none uniform geometry that looks ground down, your eyes say more than pictures do. Every picture I see you share just has funky geometry.

Next, you mentioned it has issues going into battery, on an empty chamber?

So here’s my opinion dude...demand a new rifle or get colt to give you a new extension. That barrel extension is poopy(I’m trying to get better about my language). I’d expect this from surplus ammo n arms not colt! This shows several things.

if that’s a normal extension, I’ll let joe Biden smell my hair. what drunken adventures happened at colt? At what point did anyone looking at that think that’s ok?
