I recently added a new line of dental implants, the Paltop implants by Keystone Dental. We also carry Straumann, NobelBiocare, and Dentsply Astra Tech implants.

To help launch the Paltop implants I am offering one free Paltop implant and healing abutment to a TGT member. The implant will be placed under IV sedation unless you want to be awake.

I normally charge $1300 to place the first implant and $1000 for each additional. I also charge $125 for a healing abutment on implants.

Eligibility: The patient or patient's spouse, parent, or child must be a TGT member for at least 3 months AND must have at least 50 posts.

How to win: Reply to the thread & let me know you are in. I'll shut down the entries at midnight on April 30, draw a name on May 1, and announce the winner.

    Here are the rules:
    1. There is no guarantee. If the implant fails I will not replace it for free and I do not owe you anything.
    2. You must complete the implant placement surgery by 6/28/2019.
    3. I am only giving away the dental implant & healing abutment. Bone grafts, gum grafts, and final abutments each cost extra if needed. Someone must place a final abutment, either me or your dentist or prosthodontist.
    4. YOU MUST ALLOW THE SURGERY TO BE FILMED & PUT ON THE INTERNET. Your face will not intentionally be shown in full but people may still recognize you.
    5. If you want/need additional Paltop implants I will discount each additional implant to $950.
    6. If you need extractions they will be billed at my normal price. Extractions are $300 for the first erupted tooth or $400 for the first impacted tooth. Additional erupted teeth are $150, additional impacted teeth are $275 each.
    7. I do not make the fake teeth to put on the implant. You will need a general dentist or prosthodontist to make the tooth and they will bill you for it. I can recommend restorative doctors in the San Antonio area.

Let me know if there are any questions. If I need to change something to get a better response let me know as well. I am open to reasonable suggestions.

Remember, implants are metal. They do not get decay & cavities. They do get gum disease. If you do not maintain them, and sometimes even if you do maintain them, implants can get gum disease which causes the bone & gums to shrink away from the implant. The implant gets loose and can be lost.

This shows you the three parts of a dental "implant". Technically the implant is only the screw in the bone. The abutment in this picture is a final abutment. If you need to replace more than one tooth then you would have a bridge attached to the abutment instead of a single crown.

This shows you the idea behind a healing abutment. A healing abutment just creates a nice hole through the gums leading to the implant. After the gums heal then the appropriate size & shape final abutment can be selected. The healing abutment is unscrewed and the final abutment is torqued in place.

That's a pretty nice deal for someone who can make use of it. Knock on wood, still have all my God given chompers (well, except those wisdom teeth).

It's nice to want to give something people need. But medical procedures require risk and attempting to mitigate said risk takes all the fun out of it.

Sorry, I'm not following. Are you referring to rule #1 above, that if the free implant fails I don't owe you anything?

This is an awesome deal and thanks for doing this!

As an aside, the entire field of osseointegration is so very cool. I'm an example of the science used in a long bone rather than just in the jaw. Here's my right femur:

Yes, alignment was a bit ticklish, as my femur has gone through a LOT of trauma and reconstruction even prior to the need for amputation arose. TXOMFS--sorry for the hijack, but this whole science is incredible to me.
