Not what I would consider "cool" but very powerful pictures. A small reminder of what Monday represents.

Hi-Boy looks just like that shows up at the Pearland HotRod meet, saturday nights at Lowes....

    ...cept it has a 6-71 on top...:green:
Aren't all Detroit Diesel roots type blowers the same?
4-71, 6-71, 8-71 look the same to me.
The advantage offered by GM was so many parts interchangeable between engines that it kept the parts bin to a minimum.

    Gear head moment.

GM named their two stroke diesel by number of cylinders and displacement of each cylinder.

Ergo, a 4-71 was a 4 cylinder and each cylinder was 71 cubic inches. Etc.

The blowers were named as to the motor they fit and each need to move proportionally more air the more cylinder they had to supply. So each was physically larger but looked the same.

I believe the top fuel racing cars are now using a 14-71 sized blower. Gm never made a 14 cylinder. Go figure.

Oh, oh, oh, just for fun, how about 12-71's and are Allision 16's two strokes?
Oo, oo, how about CW's are actually CCW's except starboard engines or reverse screws?

    How did I do?
