Just to get this forum moving. Perhaps to find new wonderful places. Maybe even put together a few meet ups.

What is your favorite place to eat in the San Antonio area? You can list a few if you like, or by category.

    TexYid,

I suggest that we have an informal "meet, eat & greet" at RUDY'S on any day, except FRIDAY.
(TRUST ME, you don't want to go there on any Friday, as it is FILLED UP to overflowing with Latino "traditional" RCs on that day from opening until closing, lines are LONG & they sometimes run out of food on that one day each week. = I've made that particular mistake twice but NEVER again.)

I like Rudy's. It is my wife's favorite place. I guess it is a good thing I like it :)

I would likely be up for Rudy's most any time. I will likely not be alone though. I dare not ever eat there without my wife :)

Does anybody like Chris Madrid’s for burgers? It’s been several years but I recall the burgers were pretty good. They also had some nice beefy tostadas

Christ Madrid's is certainly good, but I always felt it was over rated as it is not incredible. It was certainly a fun place but strictly on the food, it is not the best.

I know some people disagree. I have not been there since long before the fire. I am not sure there are even in that location.

    TexYid,

Other than the 2nd/4th Tuesday evening of each month (LION's CLUB meeting), any day that you pick works for me.
(Your thread, therefore your pick of day/time.)

On our one and only visit there, the lines were terrible, and the burgers were "ok". Really nothing special

I am surprised nobody has mentioned Little Red barn in 1902 S Hackberry. I love their steak dinners.
I totally forgot about that place. Isr to eat there regularly when I worked near it. Good pick

When I go to SA, Rudy's is not on my list. They are everywhere.

For breakfast it's Taco Taco. I usually get one of most of them. The lengua is really good. The El Norte is too big to sample other stuff.

There some great local places down there. Too many to visit in a weekend. I avoid the chains and the Riverwalk eateries.

    Taco Cabana you heathens

I eat there often, but chain, so everywhere. The only place I HAVE to eat at in SA is Rosarios on Alamo St. Always mix in another or two, but Rosarios is a must have for me.

TC is really very good, usually. Did you know that they have a Margarita slushie machine?
Wow. Wife loves that. Funny thing is, when you drink them that cold, it takes a bit for the alcohol to warm up and hit you.
"I don't think there's any tequila in this."
