    To All,

Fwiw, I don't believe the TX number, as about 18 months ago our neighborhood assn. surveyed gun ownership in GHHD & found that only FOUR of over 200 households didn't have at least ONE firearm.

    yours, satx
And did they release the addresses of those four homes? You know, as a service to the B&E crowd...

    kbaxter60,

NOPE. - We originally surveyed the neighborhood to see how much difficulty that we would have to have an effective ARMED NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH, given the fact that our area is filled with military members, ex-GIs & police officers (active, reserve & retired).
The GHHD would NOT be a good place to target if you are a criminal.

Three of the four "No firearms homes" are occupied by elderly persons (One house is occupied by a 94YO lady & her granddaughter/caregiver.) & the Watch marks those homes "special attention", should civil unrest or other untoward events occur.

When somebody calls my house asking about firearm ownership I tell them I have none. There might be 4000 folks in Austin that don't have firearms but everybody I know has a least a shotgun, rifle or a pistol. Then some of the folks I know could outfit a military platoon to include several snipers.

I follow the TGT approved method. That is every time I buy a gun there is a truly unfortunate boating accident and it is lost. You would think I'd stop.

    gshayd,

Fwiw, I was one of the "visiting folks" who did the surveys (We did NOT do it by phone.) & one lady (77YO) who is one of the 4 "gun-less homes asked IF she should go buy a firearm & what kind to buy.
