Apologizing in advance: Sorry to be so negative but this struck a chord, a personal pet peeve, of mine.
    The sign says:
RIFLE CALIBER PISTOLS ALLOWED ONLY ON 7 YARD PRIVATE BAYS
Huh????????? If I show up with a .30-30 pistol, I can only shoot it at 7 yards?

Pistol caliber restrictions are often justifiable at indoor ranges. Outdoor ranges should never engage in such foolishness. It's amazing how Fudd-ism will rear its ugly head when you least expect it.

    Eff that place...

Our pistol bays at the PSC don't allow rifle calibers period or even pistol caliber rifles.

You either have to use the rifle range, where the minimum distance is 50 yards or you have to use the one specialty bay that goes out to 25 yards but there is always a wait there.

It sucks but I'd still rather shoot there than pretty much any other range I've been to.

That's a perfectly reasonable way to operate. PSC has hosted so many thousands of rifle-caliber pistols over the decades that they have it down pat.

That sign, though, doesn't say "Go to the rifle range" or "There's a set of paper-target lanes you can use" or even "Talk to the RSO for instructions". It flatly says rifle-caliber pistols are only allowed to use the 7-yard bays. Period. No alternatives.

    That's beyond stupid.

I'm going to guess it's a poorly worded sign and their intent is if you want to shoot it at a pistol range, that's where you must do it. Ergo the rifle ranges are fair game too.

    But that's a pure guess.

And it's really annoying not being able to shoot PCCs in the pistol bays. That's my main gripe.

Well, it also might be that where we were shooting, it's just steel targets. They have a couple of other places where you could maybe shoot rifle caliber pistols. Didn't mean to get your BP up Ben. It is really a pretty nice, friendly range.

It was good seeing those of you that I hadn't seen in a few years and meeting those of you I hadn't met before. Had a great time as always!

Oh and I bought a Canik TP9SFX with a Vortex red dot after I got home and I'm probably getting a CZ P-09 next week thanks to yall

I ordered a bunch of new stock buffers as soon as I got home. That one in the stock must have been decades old. When I grabbed it with a pair of pliers to pull it out and look at it, the thing just crumbled like it was made of cheese.

I got a feeling that crusty 30yr old buffer might have been why the gun jammed on your friend.

Ah well thanks for letting him shoot it, I think that was a highlight for him even if it jammed. I think he's gonna join the forum soon, he was really impressed by how nice and knowledgeable everyone was.
