“It’s not, ‘We want to welcome them,'” said Devin Reaves, ...... “It’s, ‘We want to push them into the shadows.'”

Yep! Making it comfortable and risk free only perpetuates such behavior.

.... the reduced visibility can cause injury, like “abscess and damage to veins.”

Sounds like a small incentive to stop using.

The research also shows that light bulbs further stigmatize drug use and manifest as “symbolic violence” against people with addiction.

WHAT? Now they are just making shit up.

    Reaves also said .....
“I would rather see somebody use drugs in a Starbucks where if they did, God forbid, experience an overdose, that somebody could get to them, Narcan them and save their lives,” he said. “As opposed to someone shooting up in a back alley or an abandoned house.”

And the trauma for some, when they come upon a dead body covered in blood, puke and feces on the bathroom floor, well they'll just need to get over it.

My daughter may not know it yet, but she's sure going to be glad to be armed around these people.

I can honestly say I have never been in a Starbucks,or drive in window. Tasted their coffee given to me and I do not like it.

And to think, when I was a teen in Seattle, I used to always stop at Starbucks (original store 1970's) when I went to Pike Place Market. They had great coffee at a reasonable price.

I'm confused... they have needle disposal bins in the stores, but put blue lights in the bathroom to discourage intravenous drug use???? WTF????
