Forgetting and forgiving all politics and economics for the moment.
    I'm pursuing reliability and functionality.

I have, in a box, 11 different 9mm ammo variants.

Thus far the 5 or 6 9mm ammo types I've fired were flawless.

If it functions with all of the 11 9mm ammo types this Sunday on my shooting outing I'm thinking that the 320 SIG will become my always-with-me truck gun.

If one of those types isn't winchester forged, it isn't really a test

I've got a full size P320 I picked up at the gun show as a Red Box deal for $399 about 9 months ago.
It shoots great, couldn't be happier. Just recently picked up a P365, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.

    I'm a hammer guy.
Striker adverse generally. I hate Glocks for the pure joy of it.
This new-gen gear is bringing me into the 21st century.

People think folks who like Glocks are obsessive, but I find way more overt Glock “Haters” than fanboys. And they always seem to enjoy and relish the hate. I have zero understanding of this.

Regardless, enjoy your P320. I’m sure it will serve you well.

I’ll stick to my Glocks. I know they run flawlessly.

I've had at least a half dozen Glocks. Only 2 at the moment.

I have a Glock 37 .45GAP just because it's so damn odd and I got it for $300 with about 500 rounds of ammo!
I recently picked up a 43x. The 43 is too small. 43x fits my paw perfectly.

I shot the 320 Tacops bunches today with about 8 varieties of ammo.

The only malfunction was recurrent and with a quirky box of ammo.
I had an ancient (90s maybe) box of very hot +p+ 100 grain Hirtenberger LE softpoint that angled up from the mag sharply and failed to chamber.
It may be hot SMG ammo so I'll shelve the other two boxes as collectable?

Everything else, ball, HPs, hot defensive stuff.
    Flawless.

I crammed a full 21+1 rounds into it several times.

One warning, oft repeated and nothing new:
Is cycled perfectly with both my suppressors but spit back a lot of powder particles.
Enough to sting my face. More that my 226, less that my buddy's Glock which sprays back terribly.

DO NOT shoot it suppressed without eye protection!!!

But then, none of us should EVER shoot without eye protection !!!!

LOL! Sure. I guess in today’s world we take our joy where we find it.

I personally try to avoid the word “hate” with any guns, simply because it’s the term the folks who want to abolish the 2A use.

Anywho, enjoy your Sig. Sounds like it’s a good blaster.

    Rust???

    That is quite surprising.

I've had SIG rifles, pistols and a carbine.
Never a hint of oxidation and I'm not great about post-shoot cleaning.

Give us some detail of circumstances?

Carried it for 3 days, iwb. The slide stop and mag release had some pretty bad rust, not just surface stuff.

Sig, well, modern sig has always had rust and other finish issues. BIL had a .40 226 that sat in a humidity controlled safe for a day and has some surface rust on the slide, and more than a few people had issues with the finish on their legion pistols.

Small update on my friends sig, rust keeps coming back, and pitting is very obvious, and was starting to interfere with dropping/inserting mags. It's going back to sig. Ill see if i cant get some pics from him

I’d like to know how they respond. I’ve not heard great things about Sig customer service lately...

Not trying to throw out a turd on Sig, and nothing that happened to me personally. But it seems to be a trend regarding folks of late.

Well, had that been handled poorly, sig would have likely had a shit storm on their hands that would've made the R51 look stellar.
Sh*t happens and your friend was the unlucky one that drew the short straw. It isn't like there are lots of similar situations being reported.

There are. People have been complaining about sigs rusting since ron cohen took over

Shit happens with every brand, true, but it's no great secret that some brands have more issues than others.

Yeah, theres totally a detailed count that spans the what, 14 years cohen has been the CEO. I know of 2 personally, and it wasn't all that long ago people were posting their messed up legions on reddit.
The 320s aren't that old. I just scanned the first 10 full pages of thread titles of the P320 forum on Sig Talk and did not see one that was about rust so it must not be a widespread problem. I don't doubt your friend's has a problem, and that others have had similar, but I am guessing it will get fixed or replaced if sent back.
