If you are ready to die, then by all means proceed with your thoughts on this matter. Let us examine a more realistic scenario. Have you eve been in a fist fight or been in a situation where you were accosted by someone wanting to do you extreme harm without any reason? Only you an answer just how ready you are to die. Odds are in a shooter vs shooter scenario, you will die. Being shot is not like the TV or movies. It tears gaping holes of flesh and bone our of your body. A .223 round will shatter any bone it hits and do more damage than you can imagine.

Reminds me of the guy letting his girlfriend shoot him with the .50 Desert Eagle while holding the encyclopedias.

Friend from the range called. His Marlin 795 won't cycle right. Trigger won't reset and the breech block gets real tight at odd times. Even when hand cycling. Getting ready to disassemble.
Had a JC Higgens do the same thing once. Had what looked liked a piece of shaved bullt stuck in it.

What was the name of that fellow that saw a suspicious backpack/package that he thought (for whatever reason) could be an IED and began moving people out of the area to safety shortly before it went off, confirming his suspicion.

Investigators questioned numerous witnesses that identified him as the one that initiated moving people away from what he referred to as a bomb/suspicious object, then LEA’s announced he was a suspect and may have staged the incident. They thought it was all too coincidental.

He went from hero to pariah and social outcast in a matter of days. Lost pretty much everything and was affected for years despite being cleared.

Hell of a price to pay.

Could a prosecutor reasonably argue that I put myself in a dangerous situation just to fire my weapon? As in I was looking for a fight? Does Stand Your Ground/Castle Doctrine cover a situation like this?

(EDIT: Of course these mental exercises can't replace real training, but it's better than nothing. I plan on finding an instructor to teach more advanced CHL lessons.)

    Highly unlikely.
Consider contacting Texas Law Shield and joining them.

That was the Centennial Olympic Park bombing in Atlanta where the FBI under that Idiot Louis Freeh accused security guard Richard Jewel of setting it, when in reality it was a guy named Eric Rudolph, who liked blowing up abortion clinics.

I’d imagine the courts will be seeing a flurrying of activity to establish a bright line for issues regarding the right to be heard and free speech.

Walmart merch barely provides concealment, and not at all cover.

If Walmart barely provides concealment, why is it so hard to find the other members of my fa
Not knowing how many shooters or accomplices may be in the store or how well armored they are,

You mentioned accomplices. Accomplices in this sort of situation are rare, but they can kill you. That happened to Joseph Robert Wilcox in Las Vegas a few years ago. He went to confront the man with his concealed carry and was shot from behind the man's wife. Wilcox was killed.

That was my point, unless you see what is going on, there are too many unknowns to go Lone Ranger on criminals.

Thanks for finding that. I remembered that incident.

I met a Lt. with the LVMPD. He’s the BIL of a close friend. He was talking to me about that incident. His perspective was that he admired Mr. Wilcox’s bravery and thought it was sad and unfortunate that he died. He didn’t criticize his actions, to me.

Frankly, I think everyone should make the best decision they can based on the situation and their capabilities. The wisest action is often to escape from the scene asap.

However, I’m not going to criticize someone for fighting back or protecting the lives of others. Most (not all) of these “mass shooters” are untrained, weak, incel cowards who seem to fold or commit suicide at the first sign of resistance.

IMO, hiding or seeking cover is usually a bad strategy since most materials in stores won’t come close to stopping a bullet.
