If that’s your idea of being an “arsehole” you give yourself too much credit.

That said, I hope you keep that attitude next time you are confronted about a handicap parking spot. Just walking away without words or gestures is the best option.

Doesn’t matter if you’re walking away. Shit talking as your walking away doesn’t negate the fact that you’re shit talking.

You are STILL missing the point. And by flipping them off or running your mouth you’ve already let them bait you.

As for the guy running out and getting involved, that’s why you don’t escalate in the first place. If the shooter wasn’t being a jackass by escalating the situation with the stupid woman the guy wouldn’t have seen a need to escalate. And if he had escalated the shooter would have had a much better case for self defense and may not have even been charged.

You are missing the point that it doesn’t matter who escalated last. It matters if the person left alive escalated the situation prior to using force. If so, it’s gonna be a tough defense.

Maybe AZ law is different. Not sure why he doesn't go to an AZ gun forum.

Prosecutor Fred Schaub said during opening statements of Michael Drejka’s manslaughter trial in Clearwater that five months before he fatally shot Markeis McGlockton in July 2018, the defendant had threatened another driver about parking in a handicapped parking spot at the same convenience store.

“Shock, confusion … There was confusion on the part of Mr. Drejka. He had no idea what happened to him,” Camareno said. “The danger may not have been actual. In his state of mind, it’s the appearance of danger that caused him to act.”

McGlockton’s autopsy showed he had the drug ecstasy in his system and the defense attorney suggested that could have led him to act impulsively.

Also the shooter is not a crotchety old man as I pictured. He's 49 years old:

Or just not scream at people in parking lots instigating confrontations.

My kids understand that if they avoid trouble and have to defend themselves I will have their backs.

But if they start shit they are in trouble. This guy is in trouble.

And if he had not been shot I am sure he was about to tenderly love on the shooter.

So it’s ok to pick a fight with a drunk and shoot them if they become violent?

Or to more closely resemble the story, walk up to a drunk mans wife in a parking lot and start screaming at her. When the drunk knocks you to the ground do you believe deadly force is justified?

So you don't think death or bodily harm can come from being blindsided and knocked to the ground violently ? From an unknown assailant who may or may not be friends with the person you are yelling at so now you may be facing 2+ combatants ?

There are just to many unknown variables to say how or what would be legal.

I think a big part of it is if the person defending there lives feels death or severe bodily harm is likely.

Pfft, no one has Commented on the victim's name? McGlockton? Was he Irish and why did he not carry a Glock? This is becoming very disappointing.
