Or maybe they just wanted to watch the cat fight.

That's what it sounded like to me. It was pretty common growing up having one person pick a fight with another and a group shows up to watch. But like Dawico said, there is "a whole lot missing in the story."

Whole lot of missing details in the story. Like usual.

On the surface it sounds like a crazy mom but it may not be like that at all.

Personally, the use of "The gun-toting woman" seems to me to be slanted to an anti gun perspective. But maybe I'm being overly sensitive.

I don’t think you are wrong. “Gun toting” and “Bible toting” are both terms used negatively plenty of times to describe us “backwards uneducated rubes” who insist on owning guns or believing in a higher power...

(Present company excluded, as proper, of course...)

We cling to our guns and religion don't cha know.
If schools just had a boxing ring and some gloves, we could handle a lot of these issues.

Daughter was "fighting and bickering back and forth" with another girl? Why did momma shoot the boy in a crowd? Yeah I would like to hear more and see video.
"Hello 911? I am about to go pop a cap on someone outside my home, you better come quick."

I see where the problem is. According to the story the daughter and another girl are bickering and fighting and the mom steps outside her home and shoots a boy who is a bystander. That’s not lawful use of deadly force. Go to jail and do not collect $200.

There just isn't enough information to make that call.
