I know one of you guys can help me here. If laws against private sales of firearms are implemented, how are they going to be enforced. For the record, I will obey any and all laws but still curious about enforcement policies.

Have private sales been the pipeline for AS getting these guns? No, then STFU.

Banning private sales is the next logical step. Locally, there was some old white guy that had a "Falling Down" moment at the local post office. Dropped the N word and other racial deragatory words. DPD and Postal Inspectors are now involved and Rick Roberts on his WBAP shpw stated we should go check on him and his behavior was a red flag? Even supposed conservatives like Abbott and Roberts are talking out their a**.

"He also floated the idea of “welfare checks” when worries are raised about people with access to firearms."

Is he replacing "red flag laws", with "welfare checks"?
That statement caught my eye, too. I think it needed more double-quotes:

He also floated the idea of “welfare checks” when "worries" are "raised" about "people with access to firearms".

You can’t do it effectively without a national firearms database. All guns not in the database will become illegal and possession of them a felony. See how easy that is.

It can't and won't work, but the Leftists know that. Once it fails they will say that we need universal registration to make it work.

    Registration leads to confiscation.

Same way AWB was enforced, FEAR. 99% will not risk a felony conviction over something so minor.

How many people are selling MGs, silencers, etc., without paperwork? Next to zero.

Don't be to sure about that.

Decades of watching folks count compliance parts, trace receivers to make sure they are pre-ban, make sure >10 round mags are pre-ban, install bullet buttons and all the other gyrations gun owners do, I am pretty sure the overwhelming majority of gun owners comply, and 100% of business comply.

Been saying for years that Governor Fluffy Abbott is no Friend to liberty in Texas.
Maybe now I won't feel like I've been pissing in the wind.
Abbott and Cornyn are cut from the same cloth. And quietly working against everything Texas once was.

Hopefully the Texas Republican group can find a better candidate for next election - naw , they won't. Easier to just let the Dem. party take over. Might as well if Bonnen & Abbot stay in.
