Decades of watching folks count compliance parts, trace receivers to make sure they are pre-ban, make sure >10 round mags are pre-ban, install bullet buttons and all the other gyrations gun owners do, I am pretty sure the overwhelming majority of gun owners comply, and 100% of business comply.

You're hanging around with people who follow the law.

Just go on eBay and look at all the solvent traps, and 9" muzzle brakes that are for sale.

Go on Amazon and see all the thread adaptors that just happen to fit oil filters.

Authorities have said Crusius legally purchased the rifle used in the attack but have not said from where.

So then STFU, why are is he even talking about it? (no need to answer, it was rhetorical)

Abbott said the companies offered to provide a training program for both users and law enforcement to identify those who may pose a danger or deter potential attacks.

So FB et. al. are going to tell us who is a danger and who is not. I would imagine that a good portion of members here would be on the top tier of that list.

Pennsylvania has the requirement that handguns have to go through an FFL if sold privately. Wouldnt be surprised if they tried that garbage here with "assault rifles"

WA state has a similar law for all guns (was originally Initiative 594). And, like is often the case, it was stupidly written, so if you wanted to hand down a gun to your kid, it was a "transfer". Some claimed that if you handed your gun off to cross a fence, it was a "transfer" (and therefore illegal). I don't know if that one made it into final law, but overall, it was really stupid. Glad we moved out of that lib-infested crap storm. It was beautiful country, but ruined by libs and cold weather.

I know one of you guys can help me here. If laws against private sales of firearms are implemented, how are they going to be enforced. For the record, I will obey any and all laws but still curious about enforcement policies.
The same way they stop drugs from being sold. Prohibition has never worked efficiently. Only the truly law abiding will suffer from ability.

You wont ever be able to transfer it if the possible laws mentioned here are passed. Just buy some private sale ARs before that happens and nobody knows what you have. Nobody's business. Wont be able to transfer them either though.......without putting yourself in jeopardy from a snitch or a set-up.
