The 320s aren't that old. I just scanned the first 10 full pages of thread titles of the P320 forum on Sig Talk and did not see one that was about rust so it must not be a widespread problem. I don't doubt your friend's has a problem, and that others have had similar, but I am guessing it will get fixed or replaced if sent back.

Or you know, you could just google "sig rust issues" and see all the results, instead of hoping for objectivity on a brand specific forum. I wouldn't look for objectivity about HK's on HKpro or objectivity on glock from glocktalk

Page 6, only one i saw about finish issues in the first 10 pages of the 250/320 section.

Not all sig owners are required to post about their issues on sig talk, so just because you didn't see anything on that board, isn't concrete proof that it isn't an issue.

People have been joking about sigs finish issues for close to 10 years, amd after seeing a $600+ and a $900+ dollar gun develop rust, one to the point of pitting...

Yeah, sorry, its going to take more than 10 pages of sig talk to change my mind

    I suspect nothing would.

Nah, quite a few things would. Being honest, stepping up QC, stop with the lifestyle stuff, getting rid of the guy who turned kimber into a joke...

It just so happens that Sig Sauer is not interested in such things, at least not now

If sig changes, my opinion will too

It's called reporting bias. Rampant on the discussion boards everywhere.

2 of 1,000 owners get rust, one from neglect and one from defective finish.
    Those 2 complain on line.
998 blissfully shoot their non-rusted guns in happy silence.

I had a Browning that's rusted badly due to alligator urine.
    I shoulda' complained!!!!

I wouldn't call being carried 3 days "neglect". Maybe if the gun is a deep blued SAA, but not a polymer handgun designed in the last 50 years.

I'd wager more than 2 of 1000 people have rusting sigs, but neither of us can back up or disprove that number

About a month after I bought my P320, I noticed quite a bit of rust on the sights. Never carried it, sat in my safe.

    Heck.
That much sweat, frequently allowed to stay on any heavily used gun might eventually cause the polymer (AKA plastic) grip to corrode, eh?

    :)

The military will have them tweaking the materials and finish, I'd suspect.

The gun isn't that old or used. It has about mayby 500 rounds through it?

On the flip side my 19x has much more wear, and about 17k through it, and not a spec of rust

    My Tacops variant is awsome.

    Army:
    M17 Full size.
    M18 Carry size.

Mine has been on one outing Sunday.
Flawless with about 7 assorted types of assorted 9mm ammo.

Hearing safe with my little Ti-Rant Mini.
Movie-myth-quiet with my full size can.

    Thunk-thunk-thunk-thunk. A joy to shoot.

    I'm a hammer guy.
Striker adverse generally. I hate Glocks for the pure joy of it.
This new-gen gear is bringing me into the 21st century.

Your buying it cause the Army bought it?
Do you buy 500 dollar hammers and 750 dollar toilet seats too?

Note that the mag release is stuck open.

He talked to sig, and they wanted him to pay for shipping, and for cleaning/replacement parts
