A word to the woman parked in the handicap space was appropriate

I think that if that's all anybody does that we are doomed as a society...we might be doomed anyway, but I think that will contribute to it.
We can't exclusively rely on cops, parking attendants, teachers, or principals to admonish or correct behavior. I'm not saying he should have kept yelling, but part of being a society is public ridicule, scorn, and compliments.
Likewise, I'm not naive enough to think that most people will change their behaviors and beliefs based on a stranger telling them they're wrong/whatever, but I know that some will, and others will at least hesitate, vs those who are never confronted at all will grow bolder.
It wasn't even a real handicapped spot. Even if it were, what was this guy going to do? Arrest her? Give her a ticket? We hire people to dress up in uniforms and enforce our laws to prevent stuff like this from happening. Unless there is a threat to you or your property is in jeopardy I say MYOB.
A big part of avoiding confrontation is not starting one.....
No, I'm not saying anything of the sort. A simple, "Did you realize that's a handicap spot?" would be it for me.
It's possible she honestly didn't know. It's possible she knew and assumed no one would say anything.
It isn't necessarily starting a confrontation simply by calling attention to something.
we are doomed as a society...
Exactly. It's the property owner's or their proxy's (i.e. the manager's) responsibility to tell them to vacate the handicapped spot, not "society's".Unless there is a threat to you or your property is in jeopardy I say MYOB.
Haha, I see what you did. He didn't start it but hey, he finished it. You think mom learned anything from this encounter? She'll continue on with her unsocial behavior and be the victim of this the rest of her life. Maybe we should have sympathy for the kid. I saw "their kind" a lot in CPS. Of course now I am making judgments but I bet I am not far off.Yeah, he shouldn't have been an a..hole.
Kid was already doomedHaha, I see what you did. He didn't start it but hey, he finished it. You think mom learned anything from this encounter? Regrettably, there was more than just one kid!Kid was already doomed
Ditto if you are not armed. If you are armed you just need to be more cautious.
All I know for sure is there are two assholes and one of them is dead. I will wait and see what the court decision is.
You both forgot the third asshole, the lady that parked in the handicap spot. That about sums it up.
