What did you do today in the world of reloading?

Didn’t trim jack but got 10k Win SPPs for $250. Time to load some 9s.

I tumbled a bunch of brass. It was a mix of 357, 44, 308, and 45-70. Too hot in the garage to do much else.

I got cabin fever and went out in the garage and cast up a big pile of bullets using a new to me H&G 78 mold.

I have a pile of .357 brass to prep...maybe I'll have something to report tomorrow.

I'm moving very soon so I won't have much time to reload. Hopefully I'll be set back up by the end of next month.

Got the Sig conversion ironed out after some serious seating issues

Figured out a slight first seater cant on my backup 9mm setup. Damn that cover plate, wish I'd looked there first

And worked through a sensor change and a bunch of TAA ringers, hate that brass.

You ever go on Facebook? I am part of a reloading group and the guy that runs the group has his own supply shop. He doesn't always have bulk powder like that but he just had 3 huge drums like that looking to offload them. His company is called redeye reloading.

Got 500 223 cases R2L(ready to load), working on getting 1000 more in the same condition.

Does anyone else do it this way? If I like it I’ll continue doing it. I have enough loaded in mags for the way I shoot now to last until Turkey Day.

Next I need to start loading 308 for my inbound RRA Predator.

I'm on a commercial loading group but I rarely venture into non-commercial reloading groups due to the adversarial nature they all seem to have for commercial guys. We know absolutely nothing about anything and are so inept that it is amazing we can tie our shoes. Which explains why bragging about my production run I just tested hitting 1147FPS (1150 goal) and an 8.5 SD across 15 shots in a stock Glock being fun but not statistically important is met with such scorn because everyone there would have hit 1150.1FPS and had a 1.2 SD with their powder and bullet choices that are SOOOO superior to mine

I kid, but only a little. I've heard of Redeye, he's got a big following from what I undersatnd. Buying powder in bulk is not an easy thing, it goes on an explosives truck, which means you need to fill a drom for it to be worth it. Anything less than 1000lbs and you can't justify or book it without losing your shirt on shipping. It's cheaper to go 1.4S in 8lbers than book a truck for a few kegs. Not to mention the good price breaks don't kick in until you hit 1000lbs with Western or Hodgdon.

I always process before I load, it makes loading so much smoother and then I'm never angry about brass issues. Fewer distractions when loading means less chances for something to go wrong, even if it is as simple as pre-sorting brass when I run the 1050 for myself on a caliber I don't run across the processor. I think you've got the right idea, especially with rifle calibers. Brass first, load later.

There's a few commercial guys in his group. They do seem to be pretty stand up guys in there. Not much trash talking (like the reloading central group...). He does deal with 8# a lot but that wouldn't last an hour in your machines! Plus with your volume I'm sure you could get better prices on bulk powder than he could anyway.

I do it the same way.

One of these days I'll get a better progressive press. I only have 2 of the 3 station Lee pro1000. It suits me for powder/bullet/crimp for pistol rounds. For 223 I have been using flat base bullets and have my press set with a Lyman m-die/powder/seat. All other rifle rounds and some of the small batch pistol rounds are still all on the single stage press only.

Yeah I had 1500 LC 5.56X45 cases to go through start to finish including taking out the crimp and sorting/trimming length. It took three years LOL...I got inspired again (I was stuck on the trim phase) when I came across a good deal on a Franklin prep center.

I had all my prep tools before Franklin’s prep center came out. I thought about it after EZE posted up about his but I just got busy with my tools and saved the cash but if you’re starting out it looks great.

Yeah it makes it easy to have repeatable results but also work quickly. I was using some Lee and aftermarket products that gave good results but tightening and loosening each casing got old around #400 and really slowed me down.

Sized all the H&G 78 bullets. Finished coating the 9mm bullets. Loaded 300 rounds of .45 ACP. 100 with the H&G 78, 100 with my 155 gr SWC, 100 with my 175 gr TC.

Each 9mm machine will suck down half a keg a day and the 223 machine is brutal and eats 2 kegs a day by itself. Running 308 means going through 4 kegs a day on a normal load out at speed. Can't afford to pay anywhere near retail price for powder on rifle loads!

Guys are always welcome to piggyback on my orders, I can't resell certain OEM items but if you are near my area and want to get in on an order I make, let me know. Doesn't hurt me to toss a little extra on a truck coming this way and pass on the savings love to fellow reloaders.
