Wish I could have made it down there today. Cannot go tomorrow.

A buddy texted me tonight and said that the Austin Highway Event Center has been sold and this weekend is the last-ever show there.

    Darn.

I know the show is small but it's frequented by a great bunch of guys and girls setting up tables and strolling the lanes in what was once a Brunswick bowling alley.

I've, for years, gotten down there about every other month and it seems that I always seemed to find a good deal on some item I need or want.

Hoping Kim finds an alternate venue to continue the shows.

I thought Kim owned the venue, hence her holding those shows there?

It's been quite some time since we went to one of the Austin Highway shows, but the few times we did, I didn't find it worth going. But full open kimono, I couldn't tell you the last time I've been to a SAXET show for the very same reason. Ever since Premier stopped coming to San Antonio, I've lost interest in the local gun shows. We get to SAXET maybe once a year these days, and even then it seems to be a disappointment. Maybe things will pick up with the upcoming 2020 elections, but if anything that will make attending them even worse.

Luckily, we've found a militaria show that is worth attending. The only problem with it is it's only held twice a year, and with my travel for work I have missed a few. No guns there, but a lot of other historical items that are of interest to me...

    ...

    Yep.
    Hear-tell she sold.

With the upcoming elections buying prices may pick up. I'm in no selling mood.
When sellers walking with stuff picks up I get interested.
All the shows have been pretty lame but my backpack always seems to fill with ammo, knives, optics, trinkets.

I'll miss scratching the haunches of their yellow lab.
    Never knew it's name.

I've been a vendor there for the last 3-4 years, but not the last 2 months. I haven't heard a word from Kim, but have sent her an email. THAT WAS FAST! Kim just confirmed to me that her gun shows at Austin Hwy. are no more.
