Odd that they don't want to speak up since they are losing their business anyways. They under a gag order?

If they don't want to stick up for themselves that's fine, but I'd still like to know who all is involved. They can't be good for the rest of us in the county.

    I found this. https://judicialrecords.wilco.org/PublicAccess/CaseDetail.aspx?CaseID=1815870
It shows the plaintiffs, the judge, and a list of events, but doesn't have much detail. Looks like a jury trial is set for 10 months from now? I sure hope they are counter suing for that lost revenue.

DAn thanks for the info, your link errors out but I believe what you're saying. This explains a lot more than anything I've gotten from BOTW or anyone associated with it.

Wasn't there some legislation passed a few years ago to protect ranges in Texas?

The range protection act only protects ranges from a nuisance complaint such as noise. It does not protect ranges from a safety issue such as a round leaving the range.

Then there should be a law that no enterprise can start a new residential development within a certain distance of an established outdoor range.

People who move close to a gun range and then complain about the noise or “flying bullets” are as stupid as the idiots who move close to an airport and complain about the jet noise, or the imbeciles who build their house in a known floodplain then whine to the government for a bailout when they get flooded.

Totally agree, same as those that build next to a cattle ranch and then complain about the smell or any other similar idiocy!

Copperhead Creek is about 20 mins past BotW on the way to Marble Falls. Has tac bays, 100yd rifle range, pistol range, 600yd long range, sporting and trap clays. It's a bit further out, but a great spot.

BotW is a great range too, I've shot there a lot, such a shame to see it close.

It seems strange because other ranges have been through this and came out on top. I believe A Place to Shoot was in a similar spot and won out.

There was zero proof that the guy was shot from AP2S and they overcame it. I cant imagine BOTW not being able to get a pro 2A lawyer to fight this on thier behalf or get help from any organizations like the TSRA, NRA, or NSSF.

The range protection act requires expert testimony be filed in 90 days of filing if I'm reading right, how can you not have a response in 10 months?

Multiple jury trials cancelled, contempt motion, and quite a few attatchments that would shed light on what is going on.

Wish we could get at them online, anyone know how?

Lonestar Range and Academy is open. Just a few minutes out of Liberty Hill. Plenty of pistol lanes, but kinda limited on the rifle range to 3 benches. 100 yard max, nothing over .308 cal. 10000 N. Hwy 183.

Notified by a judge in Wilco. I was told someone bought land close by and complained of rounds landing over there. Which never was proven.
That's the way it is. Your bullet can't go past the fence to the next property. Before I go out to shoot I have a safety lecture with my bullets reminding them not to cross the fence line. I don't think I have had any refuse to obey the rule. Of course, I'll never know.

Heard a reason for BOTW closing from a friend of the family.

The family had 900 acres for sale next to the range (that is their land too). The buyer didn't want to have the range next door and was claiming breach of contract. Instead of losing the land sale or fighting lawsuits they decided to just close the range.

    What I heard anyways.

Makes sense since nobody wants to publicly admit greed is the reason for doing something like this.
