Which of the founders views are you at odds with?

    This one:

"I'm usually looked at like I'm a Martian," Davis said. "I mean, literally, if I come in and I get ready to go into the gun range, people are looking at me like, 'Why is she here? Black women don't shoot.' But we shoot."

Because bullshit. Nobody gives a rat's ass whether you're black and/or female at the range. I wanna say it's really about 50/50 at the one I go to. Now the RSO's...those are 99% white and male. But I for one am glad the lanes don't look like it's the Aryan Nation on their day off.

That's not the founder, but I disagree with that as well.

"Well the NRA is good for some people that are having THAT perspective. Our perspective is for black folks."

What perspective? Way to set yourself apart by race, for apparently no reason at all.

"Them not speaking up says more to US than anything. Are you in agreement with that?.. If you're an organization that wants to get black folks to back you up..."

Gimme a break. I wonder what kind of shit he says when he's NOT on camera.

I'm Puerto Rican, I may as well be white, as far as this guy is concerned. You're more than welcome to disagree...

No I don’t necessarily disagree. I will say that when black shooters come to the indoor range I frequent, no question that people give them a second look because they are rare not necessarily because they are black. That said I can’t read people‘s minds so who knows. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a black female shooter at the range so that’s very rare. I also think it’s fine for individuals to have their own clubs or organizations that suit their particular focus or social group.

How do you call bullshit on a person’s personal experience?! If you aren’t there, you don’t know.

I first heard about this group starting up a while back. When I read the article and found out where it was at, it made perfect sense. A black shooting club starting in an area that was predominantly black, and in an area with a lot of crime. Why not. It really only seemed a natural progression. Blacks tend to congregate with blacks, just as latinos tend to congregate with latinos and whites tend to congregate with whites. I don't really see it as a race thing at all.

That person's alleged personal experience. I've got her one statement vs. all the times I've seen and done the exact opposite. Yes, I'm at the range all the time, and I haven't seen anything like that but the exact opposite.

I don't think he was calling bullshit on her "experience" as much as her assumption of what these "looks" meant. If she had said these things were SAID, I'd have no issue but she interprets looks to mean that. I believe that is what he does not agree with and I don't either.

We have all ethnic and racial backgrounds and gay/lesbian shooters.......

    Their money is green too...............

Got no problem with certain types having a group or banding together. I just don't like when it's on the basis of some kind of perceived racial divide, or allegation that another race doesn't care about you.

Force of habit, I check out any woman. I like and appreciate the female form, my version of art, of course some are by Andy Warhol. Maybe she needs to realize her "Perspective" could be wrong. She thinks she's singled out because she's black and that's what she has been taught. Anyone see the problem there?

Unless you live where she lives and go to the range that she goes to when she goes, your experience means nothing. You should respect her personal view on her experience at the range until you can prove different.
