Never saw a reason to buy one before. Less reason to look at anything made by Colt now.

Colt firearms never really interested me before.
    Still don’t.

But their AR’s sure do hold value

I've never been big on Colt. They didn't make the best AR, heck, they don't even make the best 1911. Most of their new stuff is overpriced too. I can buy similar guns of equal quality for a considerable amount less. It doesn't surprise me that they're dropping ARs. In a market saturated with cheap, well made products, the name Colt doesn't mean much.

Considering the quality of parts currently on the market and for better prices, I’m surprised they lasted this long. Slow to innovate and respond to the market puts you at a disadvantage, regardless of name recognition.

When I got to boot camp in 04 I remember looking at my M16A2 and not seeing Colt. Instead was some FN marking. I wasn’t an AR guy back then and had no idea anyone but colt made them. 12 years in and I never saw a Colt rifle. Now I have lots of FN parts.

Agree, yet so many folks would still pay a premium for the Colt name.

I do have an older (actually, very old now) Colt 1911 Special Combat, and I must say it is the most beautiful of my 1911's. Great royal blue finish.
