Is it common for people to buy acres just to use them for camping? I've honestly been looking around all day and found this: https://www.landwatch.com/pid/333018141

I'm thinking about taking my life savings and maybe getting a mortgage so I can own this, just so me and my friends have a kick ass lot in Texas where we can shoot, camp, listen to heavy metal, and get plastered.
That would do it. Where I am, in the hill country, land is closer to $10k per acre.

Central, East and North Texas I've seen it for around $3K.

Appreciate the welcome, y'all. And as for going to back and checking out the rest of the state, I'll be in Amarillo this Monday. Going up I-40 until we hit Nashville, TN. Then taking I-10 back and driving through the whole state. Going to check out El Paso on our way back too. I don't suppose any of y'all would know of a place where me and my friends could camp and target shoot for a night, would y'all?

Maybe when OP moves here he can trade places with a liberal that came here from CA and send him back there

It would be a net gain to TX

I'm trying to convince all my conservative friends to move out of here. I'm trying to start a movement in California where all the Republican voters go to states that are guaranteed to stay red or swing states. Because California is a lost cause, and we shouldn't let the same thing happen to more important states(Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan, etc)

Howdy Y'all. Just letting y'all know I'm heading out to Amarillo tomorrow morning. Having a celebratory Bock in advanced lol. God bless the Lone Star State!

NOT sure where you live but in my part of the Hill Country you can't touch anything for that kind of money, not even remotely. While back I offered $15k, raw land, no view, no electric, no water, no buildings, they would not even consider it. They sold for $24k, then it sold again for $40k. Got live water on your property, $250k +++++++++

Nice area, not the Hill Country which I would love to be, but the Abilene area is pretty nice too.

If you like fishing try Lake Phantom Hill out of Abilene. Great fishing there, bank or boat. Also great camping, but watch out for snakes.
