I have seen some interesting reviews/ratings for this 92X Compact.
Never been a big Beretta pistol guy. The 92 FS seems large in my hand and I don't shoot it very well.
The 92X Compact seems to have a thinner and more vertical grip similar to a 1911.
I have yet to see one in person so I am asking if any of you have had a chance to shoot one? What did you think?

I bought one a few months ago.
    Absolutely love it.
    Feels more 1911 than Glock.

I’m happy to let you shoot it.
I’m in DFW and will be at the reunion

    When is the reunion?
If I don't have other plans for the weekend of the reunion, I would appreciate testing it out.
I have made several snap purchases over my lifetime that quickly became sour after a few trips to the range.

Airborne, huh. I volunteered for airborne infantry when I was in basic at Fort Bliss back in 1968. I then had advanced infantry/airborne training at a "potty hole" called Camp Crockett outside of Fort Gordon in Georgia. Two days before we were to ship out to jump school they called us out into formation and started counting off rows of guys. They stopped two rows past me. Then they told the ones chosen that after all of the advanced infantry and airborne training we had endured, we were being shipped to Germany to make sure the Germans kept their tanks on their side of the line.
We were pissed. Me and three other guys blew up one of our porta-potty that night with some left over C4 we had brought back from the range.
The MP showed up in jeeps with 50 cal machine guns mounted in the back. Over thirty guys were interviewed and not a one ratted us out. We all did have to pay our share to replace the porta-potty though. Trust me that hurt. Back in 1968 Army privates didn't make much money.
They closed Camp Crockett a couple of years after I was there. Apparently things got really bad and a lot of people were getting hurt. A small tear just rolled down my cheek, NOT!

From what I saw on GunBroker the average price is between $750 to $850.
I did a web search for the 92X model number and the majority of vendors were out of stock.
This must be a new offering or the pistol is very popular.
I haven't found one here in the Dallas area.

So mine is the older 92FS compact...sorry about that.

This is the deal I bought it on, I couldn’t resist.

if the regular 92fs frame is too big, either thin grips or the vertec frame is a good answer. Newer beretta 92fs frames also have a slight radius on the back which can help, older ones are pretty much the same frame as the M9. If you can get proper finger placement on a normal (non-vertec) frame, you may just have trouble with the trigger weight, in which case, get a D spring.

The Vertec style frame is neat, but i personally use the wrap around grip on my M9A3 as i occasionally ride the slide release down without it. It does give you a more vertical grip angle, but wont really alter LOP.

I always felt that the compact Berettas were just a hair too short in the grip for me, and 99% of berettas aftermarket is for the full size guns...

I'll get in line to shoot it too. Berettas and I have never loved each other, but I keep trying.

Bass Pro has them advertised in their most recent mailer at $799. They list both a 92x and a 92x Centurion. I have no idea what the difference is between them.

Next months gun purchase for me will be the 92X Centurion. It has almost everything that the Wilson Combat Centurion tactical has at about half the price. I will be getting the black M9A3 rubber vertec to standard grip for it as I prefer that one to the one that is included with the 92X.

The 92fs is one of my bucket list guns. Thanks to the die hard and lethal weapon movies.

Although this pistol was used in a bunch of movies it really is a fantastic weapon. I have about a dozen different 92 variants and they all are great. You will not be disappointed in the 92FS.

When you get it I would recommend to change the heavy 20# hammer spring out for a lighter 16# "D" hammer spring. It's an easy part to change and it will make the trigger pull be much smoother and easier.
