It ain't a Glock and I never wanted it to be.

What is the general take on these? I liked their 1911’s.
I could use a high capacity 45 in full size for the house.
has anyone shot their subcompact models in 9mm or 45? What’s your thoughts?
What is that all about? Are you that insecure about your plastic pistol that you need to slam on Glock’s in an XD thread?
So do you never want your Ford to become a Chevy? Let me put you mind at ease...inanimate objects don’t just convert themselves into other stuff on their own...
I think he was saying that the XD, despite being a polymer striker fired handgun is not a Glock (people have a tenancy to compare all polymer striker fired handguns to Glocks), and that is not necessarily a bad thing. The XD is a different beast, and might be a better fit for some people than a Glock would.
At least, that's how I read it.
You mean
Do you mean wadcutters?

Quite the contrary. I love my Glocks and I love my XDs. With the grip angle and the grip safety, I don't consider them to be the same kind of pistol, though many do, and in which case they ascribe inferiority to the XDs. That's not something I agree with. Both are excellent, reliable pistols in my experience.
It is basically what the above two gents articulated far better than I could have.
Different strokes indeed.

thanks for this post. I totally agree with you on the entire content.
sorry if I came across as a jerk. Just tired of all the Glock Haters who inject negative opinions in threads that have nothing to do with Glocks.
and FWIW, I too appreciate the XD platform. My daughter has an XDm 3.9 compact 9MM that’s been flawless.
I mean SEMI wad cutters. There are very few wad cutters available for the .45 ACP. I have one mold that will drop a wad cutter though.
I have an XD45, you load up the mag with SWC loads and the first one works fine, then the slide drags the case head of the extracted brass across the case mouth of the round in the mag and folds the brass back.
My XD(M) 45 doesn't have that problem. They changed the slide geometry so it doesn't happen.
The one gripe I guess I have with my XD is the high bore axis. That is a gripe of many pistols but that is all I got right now. It makes the 9mm a tad snappy but my 45 is a softer push. I liked my buddies single stack 9mm. It is a great size for conceal carry.
I've probably not shot it enough. That's funny, mine drops full and empty mags.
Mine does as well. That's funny, mine drops full and empty mags.
