    FOUND IT:
    https://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/ltc/LTCChecker/

I saw a link on this forum that allows a seller to check the status of a buyer's LTC. Can anyone point me to that link?

I had a seller decline to sell to me as an LTC holder and wanted to use an FFL for the transfer because he stated that there's no way to verify if a card was still valid. I'm not flaming him because it's his gun/his rules and he'd have to live with the repercussions of selling to the wrong guy if he did a straight sale.

I'd like to forward the link to him if I can find it.

    Thanks!

I keep rereading your post, hoping I'm misunderstanding it, or putting my own bias on it. This link is only to check the status of your LTC application. It is not a way for someone to check if your LTC is current.

If you're saying this guy stated in advance he wanted an LTC for the sale, and you don't have yours yet, and expect someone to take your word for it, then you are the asshole in this situation and should stop wasting this individuals time.

If however, you have your LTC, and this guy springs the FFL thing on you at the last minute, then **** him and don't waste your time trying to buy a gun from someone whose ideas of a firearm sale belong in California, New York, or Illinois. If this is the case, and it's a member of this forum, you should tell us who, so that none of us waste our precious time trying to deal with someone like that. We want to look him straight in the eye and tell him what a cheap, lying, no good, rotten, four flushing, low life, snake licking, dirt eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood sucking, dog kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat assed, bug eyed, stiff legged, spotty lipped, worm headed sack of monkey shit he is.

Hallelujah! Holy Shit! Where's the Tylenol.

A little off topic but there are some Academy's if not all of them that do back ground checks even with a present LTC. I also heard that Bass Pro Shop in Katy has the same policy.

I have an LTC, just issued last week.
The seller's post stated that the transfer would need to go through an FFL. I contacted him and asked if a current LTC and bill of sale would work instead of going to an FFL. He replied that there is no way to determine if an LTC was still valid or if it had been revoked.

I thought I'd seen a link on this site that allowed a seller to verify an LTC through the DPS. I did:

Not many FFLs are open during my offtime, I've been working at the Dallas terminal from 9:00am to 8:00pm so I was hoping to meet and buy at a local PD parking lot or coffee shop, whatever the seller is comfortable with.

I think the seller is being anal but as you said, his gun/his rules. There are 1000s of other deals available but if you feel THIS one is a must have, I recommend you go through a FFL so the individual does not have your personal info. Just my .02

Since you mentioned it, here’s the obligatory BOS is a POS message.

A BOS is a worthless POS.

Dammit - ya beat me to it.....

OP, why in the HELL would you even entertain buying a gun from someone so pucked up as to want to go through an FFL? I'd be telling them to pound sand in their MAMA's a**!!! For over 50 years, we've done fine with checking an ID and doing a Mark I eyeball on a buyer. Generally speaking, I either personally KNOW the buyer, or they're a friend of a trusted friend - or someone that's been on this (or other) boards for a while. You get to know a lot about someone on these boards.....

What were you trying to buy? I'd be more than happy to keep my eyes peeled for ya - and probably find it at a better price.....lol Say the word - I'd bet most of us here would be happy to help!

That's kinda what TxStetson so gingerly pointed out, F! that guy and his rules. Waaay to many other deals available, no need to pacify an idiot. Glad you're comin' around. :)
I'm from OLD Virginia, not the new Virginia run by carpetbaggers. And Texas feels like Virginia did 40 years ago.

It was a sweet little Ruger LCP II with extra mags, a couple of holsters and a few boxes of bullets. $300 on Armslist. I ha e contacted a few people on here but every one I've seen turned out to be sold already- a couple have been on for 6+ weeks and still show as WTS but, when I pm'ed about it, they replied that the gun had been sold.

    I want a .380 or 9mm for concealed carry.
