Few folks remember the exodus from Florida to Texas in the 70’s. Got so the only thing that outnumbered the NY plates in Texas were the FL plates ... except that most of them were originally from NY also.
In TX........it's sorry ass CA plates now......they all need to go the fuc back to CA.
In traffic......the CA plated cars act like fuking asses. Not that Austin drivers are much better........but goddamn......I hate the CA transplants.

The fact that you may be a "native" Texan was not your active choice but an accident of birth location

I'm a native Texan, born in Texas City. Imho Texan is a state of mind, how you conduct yourself, how you think and the things you hold dear.
Texan can't be learned, it has to be felt, in you to your very bones. There is no relativism, no shades of gray, it is absolute.

Those may have been true words at one time, now all I can do is look around, and sigh. Who would have ever thought for Western wear in Texas you have to go to a specialty shop. Dang I was born in Buffalo NY, went in the service from 66 - 78 lived in Mo 38 years before moving to Texas to be close to grandkids I always considered myself to be part of clintons vast right wing conspiracy and deplorable, and I am proud to say I still am.
