If you weren't born here....don't come here callin' you' self a Texan.

    Yu's from Kalifornia....New Yorrk.....Florida.......all of ya'll...............that means you.

I appreciate your desire to move to the free state........but your patriotic duty is to stay where you are......change your own state. Don't come here.....please.

We do not need more infiltration.
And here I thought Texans were friendly and supportive of others who were libertarian or conservative. How wrong I have found myself to be after moving here only to find Texans like you who are more like the hateful liberals of NY and CA, the ones whose hateful politics helped me decide I'd move out, than I could ever have imagined. If I find enough like you here, I'll leave TX too, who needs haters like you who judge others by your self righteous preconceived notions!

By the way, my friggin patriotic duty has nothing to do with the shithole called NY from which I departed. My patriotic duty is to the United States of America not a single friggin state like NY, CA or even your beloved Texas. I did my part for decades in NY to fight the oppression. I went to rallies, joined pro-gun rights organizations, wrote to politicians, tried to convince people of the error of their libturd ways, donated goodly amounts of money to pro-RKBA organizations, helped support a youth shooting program, donated to political candidates on the right, but then reality set in. It got to the point where I had to face the truth - stay in NY and be arrested for taking the liberty to exercise my rights or move to someplace freer in the hopes of carrying on the fight there. Then I got here and guys like you want to make Texas as unwelcoming and oppressive as New York for guys like me. How leftist of you to be just like those scumbags in NY whose leftist ideals convinced me to move elsewhere in the first place.

Luckily though, so far I have found most Texans do not think hatefully like you.

    Glenn B,

On his WORST day, "Mohawk" (and who is now BANNED, btw) is MORE WELCOMING than most DAMNYANKEES are.
(I spent a total of nearly 8 years stationed on AD "up there" & found that some of the MOST hateful, Anti-Semitic, bigoted & overtly RACIST of people live in NY/MA/CT & IF they think you agree with their HATE, they say things that would make a KKK-idiot blush. = I long ago how many times that I heard a "Knew Yawker" or a "Bostonite" use "the N word", call someone a "dirty wop", a "greaser" or a "greedy kike".
(I would bet that they don't like us "blanket-assed Injuns" any better than they like/accept Blacks, Italians, Jews, etc.)

A large percentage of NY & MA people LOOK DOWN ON & consider Southerners to ALL be IGNORANT, STUPID & UNEDUCATED.
(I will never forget the Army COL/06 from Vermont who said to me one afternoon in 1972, "Jimi, are there any other Johnny Rebs down there who are educated, as you seem to be really smart? - I've always heard that you Rebs are inferior to people like my family.")

    just my opinion, satx

DAMNYANKEES should not be a milestone here in Texas.

Just how delusional are you, satx78247?

    Coiled,

NOT at all delusional. = As I said, I'm of NA/American Indian ancestry (Don't let my light skin fool you, as I'm a "person of color" & what some HATERS call a "Muddy- colored person", i.e., of MIXED-RACE.) & have HEARD the HATEFUL/NASTY things that all too many DYs say IF/WHEN they believe that only "decent white people like us" are within hearing range. = Those sort of prejudiced creeps are just as much HATE-filled BIGOTS as the WORST of the Klansmen are.
(Fyi, I've NEVER in the Southland/Texas heard anyone talk about how much that they HATE Jews.)

SORRY, but I'm correct & you are "in error".

Ignore Mohawk, he went full retard and does NOT represent the attitudes of most Texans. The fact that you CHOSE to come here says far more about you than Mohawk's luck at birth says about him. Don't let him or assholes like him get to you. As a native born Texan, I would take you over 1000 Mohawks. East Texas is a great place to live. I've lived around Paris and Tyler, and hope to make it back that way some day.

There are people everywhere that would judge you by the color of your skin or where you were born and I mean everywhere, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Portugal, etc. and not just the states. Most Scots despise the French for example.

Its built into us to be suspicious of people that are different than we are, an ancient survival instinct. That's where education and experience come in, to learn a man isn't things he can't change but the things he does. What's in his heart.

Sadly not everyone is fortunate enough to go places and be around people other than the small circle they grew up with. They never get the opportunity to learn anything but the ignorance and hate that surrounds them.

When I encounter that attitude I try to give the benefit of the doubt and offer my experiences. Help them see the world isn't "black and white" so to speak. Some people open their eyes and grow a little less ignorant. Some don't, they're just too damn stupid so screw them, let them wallow in their bigotry, hatred and just exist while we live.

Well I was born here but come from Texas stock, the "Old 300*", the original settlers of Texas. Grew up (till about age 14) in San Antonio on a dirt road.

When I retired and could have lived anywhere I wanted, having traveled to all 50 states and a whole lot of countries in my nearly 2 million air miles of travel.

I had no living family, nothing to pull me back to Texas other than of all the places I been its the best damn place there is...

I stated life as a Damn Yankee, being born on Pennsylvania. Moved to Texas in the late 70's. Got married and had a could of kids. Then work moved me to California. When the wife retired we relocated to the Hill Country, ancestral home for her since 1850. Anyway we like it here, and no one gives me grief about having lived in California. They all laugh at me for being there for 30 years.

We love it in Texas and all the folks we have met are very nice.
