What I really find amusing is the liberal "belief in science" yet promote the belief of multiple human genders, other than male, female and hermaphrodite. If you "feel" like you are something else, then your body is out of balance hormonally. This could be environmental factors, diet or simply a genetic issue where the body produces a deficit in the male or female hormones. This does not change your biological, genetically determined sex via your XX, XY.

They only wish to engender confusion, and disunity.

As a former teacher and administrator in a middle school and high school I can only conceive of what AISD is doing as total bullshit. That curriculum is NOT what should be taught in public schools. The responsibility of teaching children (yes, that's what they are) about sex and procreation falls upon the parents, not the public schools. If that was going on when my children were going to public school, they would have either been home schooled or attended private school.

The premise of most public educators today is that the schools are responsible for shaping the cultural and social beliefs of our children. Just like other liberals believe our forefathers were stupid, the public education system largely believes that they are far better equipped than parents to teach children these concepts. They have been doing so for the past two generations and this is why we are where we are today

I wonder how many public school teachers agree with this? I'd bet a very, very low percentage. The school boards are pushing this, not the teachers. Generally, school board members are not and have not been teachers in the classroom.

I disagree, the "public educators" include the classroom teachers, and they are interested in teaching the subject matter of the course, math, English, science, etc. I would estimate, from my experiences in public schools, that the teachers would be ecstatic just to be able to teach their subject matter.

My son, mid 1996, when he was 10 years old learned about enhancing blowjobs with Altoids from the mainstream media reporting on Monica Lewinski.

Like it or not our kids get a much earlier and a much more explicit media and internet education than we might imagine or condone.

I'll observe that maybe 1/4 of parents are capable of teaching 6th graders basic algebra.
I'll, similarly, observe that no more than 1/4th of parents are comfortable and capable of teaching sexuality to their middle schoolers.

Just last week I spoke, in a professional capacity, to a mother who was aghast that one of her daughters 7th grade friends was caught receiving cunnilingus from a classmate in a bathroom stall.
These kids need responsible, age appropriate, accurate information. Most parents are woefully unprepared to provide such an education at home.

The Austin proposed curriculum seems fair and balanced and appropriate for our societal needs.

I could be wrong, though I thoroughly doubt it.

So unfortunate that anyone should feel as you do.
Accurate information is invaluable given the barrage of bad information available to our kids.

My real purpose was to shine a light on the terrible mischaracterization of fact that undergirds this thread.
Somethings the government has no business being involved in.
