Well, Moxie has been owned by Coca Cola since 2018 so calling it a coke may not be that far off. Calling every soda a coke though is a bit far fetched and no, I am not from Canada.

Just imagine asking for a Gin & Coke when you wanted a gin and soda (as opposed to a terrible tasting gin & tonic). Then again, I usually drink gin straight.

Growing up in small town Texas we lived in the world of ordering a coke at a restaurant and being asked “what king?” At which point I would clarify “Dr Pepper”.

Things have changed now. If I were to order a coke the waitress would walk away and return with a nasty Coca Cola. Yuck.

When I was a kid there wasn't the huge variety of choices available now. Coke, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, Frosty Root Beer, and 7-Up were the main ones. Some kind of Orange I can't remember the name of. Then Big Red, Sprite, and Fresca came along.

I haven't seen a Moxie in years, I used to drink them when i was a kid. That was a long time ago when I lived up north.
