Afternoon misfits, works been busy, just stopped by to say hi

Today was about as nice a day as NYC gets. So we celebrated American history.

Started the day off at Lady Liberty

And was reminded of this:

From there we headed over to Ellis Island

Then it was over to the 9/11 memorial. Sorry, no pictures...I was there when it was still Ground Zero....the impact that day had on my life and my family’s life is insignificant compared to those directly affected, but there’s strong emotions for me there.

We also stopped by the Bull outside Merrill Lynch, Federal Hall where Washington was sworn in as the first President...the Bible he used is on display there. Several subsequent Presidents, including Eisenhower and Bush the elder have used that same bible for their swearing in, too.

After all that, we took a stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge

Now it’s time for a nap, then cocktails and a cheap dinner tonight.

Yeah, and it’s in the tourist area. Breakfast and lunch combined (for two) was about $35, eating well and with good food.
