I guess the first question really should be what's your goal here? To get fair or better money for what you inherited, or to get them sold and get past this?

Getting fair money for everything will take some time. You'll likely have some hot sellers that fly off the shelf so to speak, and others that don't seem to generate any interest. A dealer will walk in, offer pennies on the dollar for everything as one lot, but you'd have a check quickly.

Either way, your first step needs to be to write down an inventory list with whatever information you have. Make, model, serial #, etc.

Again, the folks here can be helpful in that department too. If you have something you're not sure exactly what it is, post some pictures and we'll help you ID it.
I do want to get rid of them and also get a fair price. I'm not asking for top down there but I don't want pennies-on-the-dollar either.

Depending on where you are in San Antonio, I may be able to help you out with at least getting pictures taken and posting them up here once you get enough posts to do so. Of course if it's something I can price, I'll surely help you do that as well. I just can't say for certain that I can do that without seeing what you actually have. I will PM you my contact info and we can see if that is possible.
Thank you so much. Talk to you soon.

Why sell them? Are you a liberal or anti gun? Guns can be a very enjoyable pastime. Could be the person you inherited them from felt they were a family legacy meant to be passed down through the family.
My father was in love with these guns. Unfortunately I was not raised around him and have only recently ever touched a gun. They are exciting!! But I'd like to grow from them.

May I offer some serious and friendly advice when it comes to selling something you own personally ?

Please never say you want to "get rid " of what you are selling.

It tells buyers that you dont want it and dont hold much value to it and are willing to take almost any amount of money for it.

    Rather say things like.

    I'm willing to part with....
    I want to sell...
    I want a fair price for ...

Those are better choices I promise!

There are so many pitfalls to avoid.

How many posters selling firearms on this very board do not know that the photo that they take with their phone is geotagged with GPS coordinates. Within about 60 seconds a nefarious individual can see exactly in what room of what house the firearm photo was taken!!!

I'm mostly harmless. Not nefarious at all.
I've done exactly that for amusement from the sales board here....pinpointed the gun-photo-snap whereabouts from the geotagged coordinates.
    For that?

An old Nikon Coolpix bought with cash at a pawn shop and later relegated to my backyard fire pit!

Wondering what the OP is thinking tonight.
A charming young lady, from her avatar, should not be meeting with strangers in Academy parking lots at dusk to trade guns for cash even if she did connect through this forum's for-sale area.
    Just my 0.02.
You bring up a valid point. We should be leary of meeting up with people who, w/o provocation, feel the need to say they are harmless.

    I may... what is this?

That's a Colt Python and they are not cheap. Charge him above book value if you find any, he's good for it. :)

Welcome to the forum. You have gotten some great advice here, especially about searching GunBroker for guns that have already sold.

Also I'm sorry for your loss. I know this isn't an easy time and trying to part with things in a time like this is trying.

Southpaw will treat you fairly and that's awfully nice of him to offer. He's also our resident deal guru here so this will hopefully keep him busy for a while and spare our wallets. ;)

She's going to list them here, so don't think that wallet can't be pried open outside of the Good Deal thread.
