In the latest step towards disaster in Virginia, the new governor has proposed a token but message sending $250K increase for the correctional system to handle the anticipated gun owners who will not comply with his new gun laws.

None of this has any basis in fact, because the amount proposed would maybe pay for two correctional officers, but it is yet another message to the citizens and in current media war. No doubt, if this goes forward, they will follow the pattern that put him in office and arrest one or two people in a highly liberal north state urban area and then tout the results. But, all of this is taking shape while the constitutionality issue remains unaddressed.

250K. Must not be planning on a lot of convictions. It might even be difficult to find a jury that would convict.
Not at all in the parts of VA around DC. Folks don't realize how many govt. employee liberals live in that general part of VA.

Look at the slogan on the state seal 'sic semper tyrannis'. It has its roots in slavery and the confederacy, and, it means 'thus always to tyrants'. More closely meaning that Lincoln was a tyrant. How can the state be against tyranny and not uphold the Second Amendment?

It would be interesting to see if someone built a bunker house, loaded with about 25 or more family members and see them hold out for 60+ days like they did in Waco.

The Law Enforcement lost 4 ATF agents, and never managed to succeed in confiscating guns or arresting anyone that didn’t surrender.

if they didn’t commit suicide by burning the place down, I wonder how much longer it would have gone on. They should have held out because the ATF/FBI would have looked even worse had they stormed the building and everyone lost their lives including the agents.

I know someone here in Texas that has built for the most part a bullet proof house capable of holding back and not allowing penetration of 50bmg rounds, other then the windows. If they are open and the shutters haven’t been closed.

If the well trained FBI and ATF have screwed up multiple raids, and continue to do so. I wonder how less trained state police and sheriffs are going to mess up when they try to do raids! They will do a lot worse when they try!

They didn't commit suicide. They were murdered.....burned and/or suffocated, including a couple dozen children. And none of it needed to happen except for the feds wanting to put on a show.

Officially the cause of the fire has been undetermined, and who caused it undetermined... that’s official.
76 davidians 28 of which were children, and 4 atf died during that government led fiasco

Yeah they couldn't be bothered with pesky facts like the fire starting immediately after they lobbed in cans of CN that were known to act as incendiaries in the presence of a source of ignition.

Trust me I have my own thoughts on it, and suffice it to say I think the government should not have been there in the first place, nor do I find anything they did to be justifiable or correct.

However no law enforcement agency can suffer a similar embarrassment in any form. So if a group of Virginians hold out for as long as they did in an attempt to arrest and confiscate guns based on Virginia’s unconstitutional laws, then the Virginia law enforcement will suffer a huge nationwide humiliation an embarresment.

Sure...undetermined. But happened when the feds stormed the compound that never should have been under siege in the first place. Ridiculous. Asinine. Murder, period. Yet the only people who went to jail were the Davidians who were lucky enough to survive.

To understand the entire story, you have to go back to the very beginning. And this is not a defense of Koresh, who I believe was a sick MF'er and more than likely a pedophile. But holy shit......was that whole thing mishandled in the quest for glory and admiration.

It was CS gas. CN is actually pretty toxic and hasn't been used in a long time.

And yes, all methods of delivery, except fogging machine or muzzle blast are pyrotechnic and burn extremely hot. Even rubber ball grenades get too hot to touch. I've burned my self picking one up 5 minutes after it stopped smoking. I've seen 3rd degree burns on idiots throwing them back, or attempting to anyways.

CS can kill kids in the proper concentration, so add this to the burning and construction of the compound plus the wind and I knew as soon as they started delivering the gas it wasnt going to end well. As did everyone else with the slightest bit of knowledge on the subject. We were screaming at the tv in the briefing room in AZ. We were watching as a form of training. Table top discussion of their tactics. It was a boring few months till that day. The good news is the era of the Clinton admins bs and Columbine brought forth a lot of changes in how tactical units and line staff responded to incidents.

Bad shit happens when someone throws a party and they let everyone come. When you have the wrong people running shit and they let everyone itching to try out new party favors regardless of experience expertise or intended use such things are inevitable.

Like arming riot police with AR rifles, all you do is leave them with only a deadly force option to respond with. You tie their hands.
