The fact they don't sell ONLY 1911s is my burden of proof.

Your burden of proof would be sells figures saying they don't need DWX's, custom Berettas, glocks, etc.
I never said that they don't sell other calibers or models. Different people have different preferences.

You said that 1911 sales are down. Prove it. And the point you have missed, is that I have been talking about the .45 round. And more than the 1911 uses .45. The 1911 is my personal favorite because for me it is a natural aim and it is extremely reliable. But other handgun types utilize the .45 as well.

According to the ATF 657,971 pistols were manufactured in calibers larger than 9 mm in 2017. And 45,767 revolvers manufactured in calibers larger than 9 mm in 2017. Those numbers are not all .45, but they show that larger calibers are still sold in significant numbers.

    Gunz are icky.
I disagree with your statement that 1911’s are not selling well.
The big boys like Ruger didn’t get into 1911’s because they don’t sell.
Sure they make other guns but just imagine how many 10’s of thousands(if not 100’s of thousands) of 1911’s just Ruger, Springfield, and Kimber churn out each year.
If thats not popular then I don’t know what is.

Not very many people are running out and buying .45 glocks, or m&p's, etc. The vast majority of .45 acp pistols are 1911's

If .45 was as popular, glock, FN, sig, etc would be releasing new models in that caliber, but there just isn't demand.

Is there a sizable percentage of .45 not 1911's, sure, but 9mm moves. Any clerk at a shop who is being honest will tell you this.

My job has me working with guns, and i see many many times more 9mm than .45

Most every new shooter brings a 9

We sell many times more 9mm than .45, enough to make the difference in price a moot point

That said, .45 does move faster than .40, but not by that much

Ruger didn't just start making 1911's yesterday, and as the 57 shows, they aren't hell bent on making guns that are guaranteed to sell extremely well.

The fact remains, some of the top names in 1911's are working on non-1911's. Very few, if any, only sell 1911's in .45's.

I am not saying 1911's don't sell at all, or that .45 is worthless, just that neither are as popular as 1911 fans seem to think.

It had it's niche during the AWB. If this were 25 years ago, y'alld be defending revolvers right now

.40 S&W is the best if both worlds.
