New member here from Colorado. A few years ago I bought an Engraved Smith and Wesson M 64-2, Stainless steel, from an estate sale here in Colorado. I sent for a factory letter and it informed me that it was shipped to Daves house of Guns in Dallas TX in 1976 in a group of 10. As that business is no longer in business I was wondering if any of you remember if they did any contracting for engraving in house. Its not factory but is beautiful with a white tailed deer on one side and appears unfired. Would like to know the engraver and as I am getting old need to think about selling some of my guns. Nice to find this forum, thanks for letting me join. best regards, John James

morning, some where on the pistol is the mark of the
engraver. the mark could b under the grips. engravers
r very proud of there work. each one has there own style.
see if there is a directory per state of engravers. some
engravers can identify other engravers work.
that pistol is a work of art. beautiful.
depending of the serial of the pistol and the
manufactured date. $5000. contact the gun library
at cabelas. they access to evaluators for the pricing
of weapons, they also have people familiar with
engravers who could identify the engraver.
b very interesting. justme gbot tum
