There have been ARs available for it for a while now. Not sure if they are still available though.

Cool design really. Mag on top and ejection through the mag well.
Yeah, I couldn't ever talk myself into one....

    Slick upper though, agreed.

I've never shot the FN pistol, but the PS-90 was pretty fun. I think Ruger has a real shot at reviving the caliber, especially at the price point. My crystal ball is telling me prices will come down as soon as the supply catches up to the demand. I think we will see street prices in the neighborhood of $650 on average.

I have seen a few preorder options at about $600 already with free shipping.

There is a bit in here that confuses me, and I'm not able to do my own research right now; but when did steel core ammo become illegal to own?

I've seen tons of the stuff for sale at shows and online in .223/5.56. That's your standard 62 grain green tip, correct?

It’s complicated, but it has to do with pistol vs rifle.

Price on the Ruger or do you even know?
Here's where I'm on the waiting list.

It’s not illegal to possess steel-core; AP is restricted though. Steel core ≠ AP

The 5.7x28 SS190 AP cartridge is an AP round. That cartridge is restricted. There are several versions of the 5.7 that are perfectly legal to possess.

Are you sure? That’s not the way I remembered it. Not saying you are wrong.

100% confident in steel core ≠ AP, unless BATFE changed the GCA today.

For a good read, here’s the pertinent parts

    https://www.atf.gov/news/pr/armor-piercing-ammunition-exemption-framework

Fairly certain on 5.7 specifics, but I’m not willing to say I’m 100% correct. According to the link above, AP can hinge on the firearm being a pistol, but doesn’t have to.

And the 5.7 was originally conceived as an SMG cartridge, which may be where I’m pulling the SS190 memories from.

This is more along the lines of what I was thinking. Would have been legal until FN released their pistol.

push the take down lever from the right side, lock the slide open and turn the the down lever in the down position..........once you release the slide back to the closed position the slide only moves forward about a half inch and the slide comes off vertically.....nice.....
