I am looking for someone local in San Antonio that can pin and weld a muzzle brake on an AR-15 barrel. I would like to have this done this weekend. I appreciate any help with this.
    Thanks!

I would check Modern elite firearms. They have ar builders classes so they may be able to do it.

Actually I called Armed in America and they have the 3 week turnaround. I called Modern Elite and they don't do pin and weld jobs. The told me to try Sinner Mass

Well, being this is a community with members I'm looking for someone local, not a business, that would help without wanting a profit. I've lived in San Antonio for three years and I don't know many people here. Trying to meet some others with common interests too.

IOW, you're wanting someone to do it for free, or so cheaply as to be free. In the meantime, keep that barrel away from a lower - put 'em together and you have an unregistered SBR.
I guess we have different ways of making friends. I gladly pay friends a reasonable amount to do professional work for me. Cheap work usually isn't worth the price that you pay.

I’ve got a DeWalt drill and Hobart wirefeed.

I won’t be held responsible for any damage done to the barrel or grinding the welds down. You’ll have to buy your own can of spray paint to touch it up afterwards.

Also will not guarantee proper alignment.

That’s what you tend to get from “I know a guy that can do that”.

I am well aware of the legal limits for barrel lengths.
I'm not looking for anything for free. I already have the hole drilled all I need is one single little weld. Pretty simple and if I had a welding machine I wouldn't even be posting. I guess I'll take it to my brother's shop but that's an hour and 45 minutes away.

Wouldn't it have been easier to just bought the short barrel with the flash hider already pinned & welded?

The individual that sold me the Daniel Defense CHF barrel did not have one available with the muzzle device pinned and welded. This was from a private sale. Also I'm using a muzzle brake, not a flash hider, not that it's pinned and welded any different but I want a specific muzzle device for this barrel.
If others don't have any helpful comments or recommendations I would kindly appreciate that this thread doesn't get clogged up with posts that don't follow the topic. Thanks.

So 3hrs and 30 min of driving and maybe 200 miles of gas is probably worth, what, 3.5x$20=$70 plus 200 mi./ 30mpg=6 gals @ 2.25/gal = $13.5 and seeing your brother is priceless. So roughly < $85 might be worth doing it in San Antonio at a shop?

I also did not say I won't pay someone that can help with this simple weld job. As far as making friends... doing something together with like minded person is a pretty good way to see of this could become a friendship.
No idea why forums have so much negativity. I am a member of this community to have a positive experience and hopefully help others out. If I meet some good people to hangout with that's a huge bonus.

Well, if I'm going out there, where most of my family is and people are happy to help others out, I will be staying the night and spending time with many of my family members. So it's not all the figures you state. My family will also have a big dinner and such. Funny how a simple thread turns into such a waste of time. I guess I'll give up on this thread. Y'all have a wonderful day and weekend!

So 3hrs and 30 min of driving........

You missed my point because you’ve decided we’re all negative. I did say seeing the brother = priceless and that wasn’t sarcasm, I was trying to put a value proposition on it in the way I’d calculate it if I needed it done urgently.
