Carried a Buck 110 until it got stolen. Got, and carried another until I used up the blade. Had a Boker Kalashnikov until I gave it to a friend that just fell in love with it. I've been carrying a Kershaw Link (link below) for the last few years without issue. Pretty good, general use, type knife. I use the serrations more often than the flat, so the flat holds an edge for me pretty well. I think I picked it up for about $25-30.00.

Many variations.
Inexpensive.
If lost or stolen. Meh. Just buy another.
I was disappointed with a Boker Kalashnikov. Did not hold an edge well at all. Maybe I just got one that was not heat treated properly.
I know you said you wanted one with a clip, but I have been carrying a Swiss Army knife. It is the tinkerer I believe. Blade holds a edge pretty well. It isn’t tactical, but it is functional. I have carried one of these for 20 years. Around $30 or under.

I like my Case. Slim in the pocket. Easy to grab my wallet.
I carry it on weekends too. I'm always cutting something or opening.
You need a semi truck to carry it though. This one has some good reviews
