    Gunz are icky.
    I don't know.

I've purchased several Colt 1911's in the last few years.
Quality is spotty. usually good or better.
Irritating thing was the most expensive one I purchased was a turd while the low end models were/are great.
I guess it just depends on which employee is assembling the gun on that day?

I threw out my rose colored Colt glasses years ago. They make nothing that I can't get somewhere else with better quality and a better price.

It's disappointing. Had I known in the early 90's that the Python I sold would, at first, go out of production, and then eventually come back as a ghost of themselves, I like to think would have tried to do what I could not to sell it. I hope Colt realizes that they need up their game, but I'm not going to spend a lot of money for a name.

The last time they tried to build Pythons again was a failure, too. Meanwhile, my old 1970 still runs perfectly all the time.

I have several Smiths, and there is no comparison. The old Python is in a class by itself in terms of function, reliability, accuracy, and intrinsic quality.

Everyone should have one Colt 1911. Preferably an old 70 series.

My old Special Combat is the most beautiful of all my 1911's. Not my favorite to carry, but a certainly a thing of beauty.

I have chosen not to add any more Colt's, though. I believe better quality and value can be had nowadays with other brands.

I had a plain stainless steel Government model a few years back that was great. It was my first and only Colt but ended up selling it to fund other guns. Never had any problems, just got bored with it.

Hopefully this new Python is a success. I'm saving my pennies to buy one.
