I'm starting to think CV has been around for longer than just a couple of months and didn't appear in the Western world in January, but made a sneak appearance a few months before that.
There are too many (anecdotal, by me) cases of people I know who strongly believe in getting the flu shot every year and early, who came down with severe cases of the flu like crud between Thanksgiving and New Years, with dry barking coughs, fever, snotgurgles, starting with throat tickles, followed by sniffles, and a couple or three days of being flat on their backs.

I've been hearing lawn equipment going all day this week. Not that unusual for a weekend, but it's odd for a weekday. I guess everyone's yard is going to look nicely manicured after this.

My friend that works at a car dealership says they've been crazy busy, and not just with tire kickers. They are having a record sales month.
...and I was kinda hoping they were desperate for sales so I could go "steal" something

You can ..Ram is offering 84 months @ 0%
The car companies are dropping their pants right now for sales

The one thing I am convinced of is that no single "expert" or body of experts can accurately predict where this virus will go in terms of serious illness or deaths. But, the media doesn't let the absence of validated data stop them from blasting numbers out like #8 shot on the opening day of dove season.

Its a lot like watching the Weather Channel a few days before a major Spring front moves through Texas. The reporters go through all kinds of gyrations predicting tornados, softball size hail, biblical flooding and winds of hurricane velocity. After the front passes, the tv viewers consider themselves lucky to be alive when, in reality, the Weather Channel just used fear to gain more hits and viewers.

Bottom line, it it's gonna happen ..... it's gonna happen. My grandaughter is a nurse at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona and she is very sick with the virus which she contracted at work. She is strong in body and faith so I pray that God will make this just another bump in her still early road of life For me and the wife, at our age, we might not be so lucky, but I am ready to go or ready to stay because Someone other than me is in control.

A nurse who’s friends with my wife thinks the same thing. Her coworkers and family went through a round of respiratory infections a couple of months ago which tested negative for the flu

F’ing lawyers. I don’t hate them but I realize their shortcomings. So long as your check clears, they’ll give whatever advice you want to hear.

To be fair, this is often (not always, but usually) related to a combination of three factors:

    1. The lawyer either doesn't know or has an incomplete/inaccurate understanding of the topoc matter, but they need to come up with something.

    2. In conjunction with #1, the lawyer in question may not have access to good information, either because they don't know where to get that, or Ego gets in the way and they're unwilling/unable to ask.

    3. On occasion, it's also an issue of over-rigidity and failure of imagination.

Just my .02, and an issue which has solutions for those willing to look...
