Right now, I am enjoying - immensely - an HB Hefe Weiss and a dollop or three of Kirschwasser. They are perfection in their own right!

    The perfect pour & pair.

I am also listening to some truly epoch type excellent music: Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys by Traffic.

That and the dog has not pestered me to go out.

Things do not get much better.

By the way, if there is already a what are you drinking thread, well pardon me but I could not find it at the moment. I know there was one on the forum up in NY but will be darned if I can recall if there is one on these forums. The alcohol and old age do that to one's little gray cells.

    Pepsi on the rocks.
Stopped partaking in beverages with alcohol as I used to work for a Budweiser distributor....guess how much I used to drink...lol
Will probably pick back up in a few years...have a bottle of Crown XR in storage for the last 12 years. Should be just ripe.

    Mtn. Dew.....because I want to!
Yahoo Mountain Dew. Good stuff, even the sugar free is tolerable for soda. Normally though, I do not partake in soda water, flavored seltzer yes but not typical soda. By the way, we all drink what we drink because we want to for the most part be it water, coffee, soda, beer, booze, water (did I say water already). Ain't nothing wrong with Mountain Dew that's for sure - one of my favorite sodas when I drank soda. What I have a hankering for though is a Coca-Cola that tastes like a Coca-Cola used to taste to me. Radiation and or chemo robbed me of my taste bud's ability to taste some things and for all these years - 9 now - I can barely taste a coke and it still does not taste like it used to to me.

I know what kind of a dick I can be whenI get drunk so I seldom do anymore.
Good for you to have realized that and better yet that you then avoid the devil's brew. That is a shame, though because in moderation drink can be enjoyed. I am getting a bit high, not shitfaced, so should remain fairly civil as usual. On the other hand my uncle on my mother's side, uncles on my father's side , father and brother were all terrible alcoholics; on my father's side they were very nasty drunks. Somehow, maybe because of my mom who rarely drank, or because I saw all of them being arsehats, I was blessed to be able to enjoy it without that affliction for the most part. I will tie one on now and again but then I am usually just a peacefully nice slob, normally though - when I imbibe - I have one or three and leave it at that. It is better that way.

That's a pretty good one. Meine Hopfenweisse Tap 5 is one of my favorite. Weihenstephaner and Live Oak Hefe are nice too. Using the appropriate weisse bier glass too, I like.

I'm about to crack open some Deep Eddy Grapefruit on the rocks. Need grab a bottle of Buenbicho Mezcal, that stuff is so good.....hard to find though.

Funny you should mention Weihenstephan(er), I am pretty sure that was the weiss bier glass I was using.

On inspection, yes it was that glass.

Also just had a quick pan cooked dinner of two Hebrew national hot dogs, they are one of the best and sauer kraut and two pan cooked buns cooked in butter. Some Coles hot mustard topped it all off. Not a bad reminder of some good German fare but not quite there except for the Kirschwasser and the bier. No more for me, ate enough and drank enough, now to walk the pooch once again, then some TV until 10 or 11, and another dog walk and then hitting the hay.

    Out here by the lake!
I managed a seasonal beer garden for 22 year. It pretty much killed my taste for beer & wine. I also know a few drunks who don't have much to show for years of life. They still can't figure it out because they are generally drunk.

That's too bad that you had such a bad experience with folks who were drunks. I try to avoid habitual drunks myself, as I said, too many were in my family. I have to wonder though, why would working in a bier garten ruin your taste for wine and bier, would that have been the same with rib eye, fillet mignon or sirloin had you worked in a steakhouse?
Hebrew National dogs are good......just wait until you taste some fresh kraut that hasn't been pasteurized. I make my own, and it's so much better. Get yourself a kraut crock, you won't regret it.
My wife often made her own sauer kraut and her own rote kraut. Both were delicious.
