How are they going to fight Covid 19?

Our fathers came across the prairie, fought Indians, fought drought, fought locust , fought dicks!
Remember when Richard Dicks came in here and tried to give us a virus?

Currently both Parris Island and MCRD San Diego are not taking recruits. No family day, no boot leave, straight to MCT/SOI.
    We just beat that.

My son and his buddy graduated as normal, came home for ten days, and returned to sit in quarantine for 2 weeks.

They finally start combat training this Tuesday.

    From the linked article ;

Gov. Gina Raimondo ratcheted up the measures Friday afternoon, announcing she’ll also order the state National Guard to go door-to-door in coastal communities starting this weekend to find out whether any of the home’s residents have recently arrived from New York and inform them of the quarantine order.”

It will look something like that.

That is a state action, which is what I’m worried about.

Wonder if they will be armed with complete guns & ammo? Back when I was in the Illinois National Guard all the M-16 bolts were locked up @ a bank, separate from the guns. IIRC the O3A3 & Garand rifles were complete. Can't say about the M-60's & 1919's.

The red dot means logistics, but so much for every Marine is a rifleman.

It's not law enforcement or application of force, so it is at least arguably constitutional.

I'm imagining something like helping set up distribution centers for medical supplies, setting up field medical facilities, and medical personnel (like retired doctors/nurses/corps) for staffing them.

At least I hope it's something like that. But after the Ohio State massacre and New Orleans after Katrina, I plan to be ready for other scenarios too.

Without being familiar with the state of NJ’s OPORD, I’ll give the benefit of the doubt for now.

As a retired officer, the mere perception of impropriety in Title 32 operations endangers the public trust the military spent building back after Vietnam.

I’m not interested in a governor squandering that trust away so that he/she can be seen as strong or decisive in the face of an emergent situation.

    To All,

Cecilia M__________, the granddaughter of my "Internet Friend", "WB" (We have never met in person, though we have written back & forth for over a decade. - Walt is a former member of the "Frozen Chosin" of KW fame. ), as 03MAR20 is now a US Marine, as she completed boot camp at Paris Island.
(Grandpa & Grandma did NOT get to attend graduation, due to the virus.)

Our brand new "sister-in-arms" (who is planning to be a careerist) is now headed straight to Camp Geiger for School of Infantry. = NO leave for any new Marines now.

Btw, Cecilia is a REALLY RARE BIRD in Uncle Sam's Misbehaving Children. = Absolutely beautiful YL is she.

    yours, satx

Guard units arrived at the LA riots without ammo...
