Anectdiyally, gun store owners generally say “most” customers these days are new buyers, based in the articles I’ve read.

Iraqveteran8888, MRGunsnGear and many others are posting new “what new gun owners need to know” vids on YouTube, so it appears there are quite a few noobs.

    Yep; and new ≠ anti-gun.

I'm not against helping these "new" gun owners. Most of them have no idea about anything other than what they see in the headlines.

I know a girl who got a big scare a year or so ago and decided she wanted to have a gun. She came to me asking for help. One day the topic of AR-15's came up. She immediately jumped into the no one needs one of those things, so I asked why. She was 100% convinced that they were military grade, full auto, capable of firing hundreds of rounds without reloading. She was amazed to learn the AR couldn't fire any faster than her little pistol.

    She's changed her tune now.

I think this is our opportunity to show the non-gun world that gun owners aren’t angry crazed lunatics looking for an excuse to kill someone.

Some of you angry self-righteous old bastards are gonna play right into the stereotype.

We won’t convince all of them, but I’d like for at least some of them to come out of this realizing that most gun owners are just normal, nice, helpful people who believe their safety and security is a personal right and obligation, and not something to be entrusted to the government.

Since the chinese virus hysteria has started I've had many friends and family inquire about buying their 1st gun, borrowing a gun, or getting a box of ammo. We tend to seperate people into 2 groups: pro-2A and anti-2A. There's a lot of people out there who are anti gun, they just never prioritized getting one or thought they would need one. I'm having a great time sharing everything I know with those I care about. Brings back memories of being a newbie.

I see non gun owners as one of two types of people. Those who just never felt the need or want of a gun. Not necessarily gun haters, just never owned one. And anti gun haters. Regardless of whether it's an emotional thing, or a political agenda that they are trying to further.

The first type, I have no problem with, or spending time teaching them.

The second type, are hypocrites, and I wouldn't waste good spit on!

A week ago a single mom, co-worker of my neighbor's wife expressed interest in getting a gun due to the craziness of people fighting over TP. He and I were supposed to spend some time with her letting her try out various of our guns to help her decide on what to get.

But before that could take place the gun frenzy started, so last Sunday he took her to a gun store and pointed out several for her to try the feel in her hand. She ended up walking out with a Glock 48.

We spent the next several hours showing her gun safety and how to shoot. She quickly got the hang of it all.

She wasn't an anti, just hadn't wanted one in the house with her kids. She is now a convert though.

He gave her a box of HP to load it up with and I donated a box of ball ammo for more practice.

Funny, that is the one thing I have yet to see is any craziness. People all seem to be very polite and friendly in the lines I have stood in or other people I have been around so far. Everyone seems to be on their best behaviour it seems. I have read about a rare few but not encountered any.

So far, all but one person has been friendly and courteous. I think most are folks that were on the fence or have been meaning to get one and just realized they may have waited to long.

If I let someone buy a glock, I sure as heck would never admit it publicly.

I sold a gun today LOL

Guy who does a lot of work for me was completing some work the buyers wanted done at my flip house.

We were talking, and he mentioned that he’s been trying to buy a gun but they’re sold-out everywhere.

My Ruger EC9S has been sitting in my safe, it really never connected with me.

He did about $250 of work for me, so I gave him the gun and we called it even.

I've read articles in two different papers where the author doesn't understand why gun stores need to be open during this mess.

They're still trying to push that agenda. Hopefully these new buyers are starting to learn to ignore the media.
