I'm trying to decide If i want the Costway or the Danby. Both are well known names! LOL

I've looked all over There and walmart .com

They all have knockoff brands or maybe a name brand for 2 5 times the regular price
I have actually heard of Danby before. My son's college dorm had a Danby comibination mini-fridge/microwave in it.

    Problem solved.

Well, my wife, who usually starts asking silly questions in situations like this... actually found a perfect solution. We already have an upright freezer that's about 85% full, and a freezer in our regular refrigerator which is about 75% full.
The beef is going to take about 12 cubit feet of freezer space and she has been wanting a 2nd fridge for the garage, so we bought a standard Whirlpool fridge that had a over 6.5 cubic feet of freezer.
With what we will consume out of the other 2 freezers in a month and the space already there, between all three, we will have enough room for the beef when it comes and we gain an extra fridge in the garage.

It looks like I’m screwed due to all the panic buyers...even I didn’t see this one coming...
I bought half a beef a month ago, before all this started... It’s going to slaughter soon and will be ready May 1st.
I planned on getting a 2nd upright freezer for the garage and started looking today..I mean, I’ve got a month..right?
Went to Lowes and looked all around and no freezers. Walked up the the guy at the counter and ask where they were... sold out.. can’t get any for awhile..

So now I’ve got about a month to find something thats about as hard to find as toilet paper.
In the morning , I’m going to call around to some local stores and see just how bad the situation is....

I guess , if worse comes, I might could have to pay for a couple extra weeks of storage at the processors. I’ve not been in this situation before.
    should have been ready sooner

Just saw a posting on SlickDeals that Sams Club has 5 cu ft chest freezers for $169. I downsized 2 years ago and we bought a similar product. Granted they aren't big but chest freezers are more efficient at storing that stand-up freezers. Self defrost but I only defrost once in the spring and fall. Takes less than an hour. Just a thought...

We have a chest style freezer in the garage. When I build our new mud/laundry room in the garage, I'm considering going to an upright freezer.
Upright is the way to go for me.
Chest freezers have a bigger footprint and things tend to get lost in them and you have do constantly dig around and make sure things are rotated.
Upright freezers show you everything when you open the door.

The new room will be 9x7, so the upright will be better space wise.
