Companies can and are doing pay reductions - large DFW marketing company reduced my daughter's pay 10% (they are doing 5%-20% based on salary). But openly stating it's tied to the stimulus check will be lawsuit time! I would imagine the company name will be known very soon and the backlash will be so great they'll regret ever thinking about it. I despise social media but this will be one of the very rare cases when it comes in handy. Unfortunately, the hit to their sales may actually create unrelated salary reductions and/or layoffs.

Right? It's based off of combined family income.

" Didn't I tell you my wife is a rocket scientist for SpaceX?"

If B. Hussein Obama dosnt have to release his birth certificate.
And Donald J Trump dosent have to release his tax returns.
I don't have to prove crap either.

Co. has to make payroll, know who pays withholding. Stupid to send out a 'notice' form. Somebody in HR wants to know who to layoff?

Were I an employee, I would not sign the agreement. I would also not hesitate in dragging their name through the mud. What’s the worst they’re going to do, fire me? Go ahead, my ambulance chasing labor attorney will just add retaliation to the list of shit justifying punitive damages.

    I don’t work for free.

This is the problem with Trillion dollar bailouts.

The checks are intended for folks who lost their income, not those still working. They are also not intended for businesses to take from employees either.

The whole thing is a typical govt cluster-op.

    I looked at the articles, but have a question;

    1) Are the employees currently not working, yet being paid anyway? (my daughter's company is doing that)
It's a good question, but does it matter?

It's none of the employees business. If the employees are not working, then stop paying them across the board. Or enact pay cuts, but taking half of a $500 stipend given to help feed and house kids?

My wife is sitting at home( school district employee) so far with pay. Id prefer her to be fired or furloughed before they tried that crap.

    I disagree.

I think these check are being sent in hopes people will spend money anywhere they can in order to prop up or jump start the economy. It might help some who are t working, but I think the primary purpose is to get cash flowing.

The early press statements from Mnuchin, Trump, Kudlow said what I wrote. Gap money to pay rent, etc. Now it is mostly just a giant Free Shit Army handout since they shut the country down.

Mine will be banked, all the places where I would spend disposable cash are closed. Fed failure on display.

One thing I see really wrong is the word, anticipation.

It seems as if the company is assuming that their remaining staff is going to receive a stimulus check, and deducting accordingly.

What needs to happen is a class action lawsuit against the company.

In one way, I hope that the company folds!

Did you see at the bottom of the article the company put out an "oops, we f'd up" apology statement. Still will keep their name in my mental file, do not do business with.
